It can be tempting to settle for solid colors when it comes to tops, blouses and shirts for work, because we think that they´re more versatile. But opting for printed separates especially for our tops can be a good decision; they easily and effortlessly inject interest to our reliable dark bottoms – skirts or trousers. The good rule of thumb in choosing for printed/patterned tops is to go for small patterns or, should you choose to put your hands on large patterns, those that are subdued in dark backgrounds or in minimalist monochrome.
Today, I partnered with Dorothy Perkins to bring you discounted printed blouses and shirts that are not only fabulous, they´re also professional enough for work. Tuck the button-down shirts in pencil or A-line skirts, or in sleek trousers such as sailor pants. Let them hang loose if you´re wearing a rather fitted pair of pants to work. Wrap tops are meant to be worn as is, while a printed tee works well for layering under a jacket or blazer.
