It was only October last week but we already had snow. Winter is quite early for us this year and that means wearing warmer, winter outfits early too. I don´t know about you but when it comes to winter looks, I prefer layering of thin but warm pieces instead of bulking up with thick materials.
I know that there are days when this trick does not work, days when parka is the only way to survive, but I´ve seen quite a lot of people who, even if the chill could be worked out with creative layering, parka seems to be their only way out. Well, here are some warm winter looks that guarantee to keep you from looking like you´ve gained 5 pounds on rather casual days.
Green Sweater and Jeans Layering
Sweater, Cowlneck, Jeans, Belt, Clutch
Layering of collared shirt and sweater is actually a men´s favorite look that we women stole. My husband does this mix all the time on cold days. But in order to make it warmer, make it triple layering. Start with the collared shirt, then crew neck pullover, then knitted sweater, and add a cowl neck. Wear tights under your jeans and finish off with black ankle boots.
Drape Sweater and White Jeans
Sweater, Pullover, Cowlneck, Hat, Jeans
Who says white are only for summer especially jeans? Well, I wore my white jeans in fall and I wear them even in winter. For this look, layer up white pants with two pullover – white and yellow, or any colors you prefer, then pull together with a patterned drape sweaters. Complete with brown ankle boots.

Stripe Sweater and Velvet Pants
Sweater, Jeans, Scarf, Socks, Bag
You can wear stripes even in winter too. Look for a vibrant stripe sweater, the colors are great to lift up your mood on dull, gray days, to wear with a velvet-black pant. Velvet is really good for winter because it´s warm. I´ve a pair of velvet pants and I really love to wear them in winter so make sure to invest in one. Add a chunky cowl snood scarf and finish off with boots.
What do you think of these winter casual looks? What are your best winter warmers and how do you wear them?
I love all these looks! I´m a fan of layering and so I might copy all of the combinations. 😉
