Yesterday I grabbed a leather jacket from Mango which went 60% off. After I paid my purchase, I checked their shelves for catalogs. I noticed that on their summer collection, they featured lots of whites. In their summer catalog, there are actually six looks of all white. But did you know that this white trend will continue this coming fall and winter?
Inspired by this coveted white trend, I wrote this post to profile how you can wear white on white this fall. Lauriane, our style contributor, already gave you a heads up on how to rock the white blazer with lace-y playsuit as inspired from the runway. I also gave you a thorough post on how to stand out in black and white. But this time, let´s take a look at the three ways you can wear a white on white once the weather turns a bit chilly.
1. White Straight Cut Coat Over White Fitted Dress
I picked a snow white coat to layer over an off-white dress. Although both pieces are white, the inner layer will provide some shadow to your topper. This white coat has a straight-cut silhouette and padded shoulders. I purposefully chose its straight style to contrast the fitted silhouette of this fitted textured dress. Once you open your coat, the eye will skim through your figure. It´s the shape of the dress which provides transition, not the colors.
But since you don´t want to look like a dermatologist doctor, although being mistaken as a dermatologist doesn´t hurt, you may like to add color to your look through a bright bag, and pattern through a snakeskin pump.
2. White Funnel Neck Coat over White Embroidered Dress
Do you know what happens if you blend edge with cool? The result is this look. Try this funnel neck A-line coat featuring padded shoulders and twin side zip pockets over a cozy lightweight dress styled with ethnic embroidery. Reflect the coolness of your outerwear on your shoes; go for this black lace up cowboy flat boots.
This is also an example on how you to transition a summer dress to fall. While you can wear this dress with flat thong sandals in summer, you can layer it with a gorgeous coat and edgy boots for fall.
3. White Jacket on White Tee and Shorts
The idea of this look is lifted directly from the Mango catalog which I took from the store yesterday. Layer a white jacket/blazer on white separates. For this look, I opted for a lightweight t-shirt and white denim shorts to wear under a white blazer, complete with brown flat buckled boots. But you can also replace the shorts with white soft pants and the boots with neutral flat shoes.
Now over to you, girls. What do you think of these white on white outfits for fall?
