Fashion bloggers love to pose against a wall when they do outfit posts. It just makes their outfit pop out. But how many of them thought of posing against a graffiti wall? Not as many, I guess. Or probably, a stunning graffiti art wall isn´t always available. But I realized that taking outfit photos against a graffiti wall is a dream I shared with Janine, a virtual friend who blogs at J9Style. In fact, she did it really well. I love everything in this photo from her outfit, her smile, to the colors of the graffiti background.
I did an attempt of the graffiti too, but mine was rather spontaneous. I was out and about with my then boyfriend, now husband, and we just got engaged when I saw a graffiti wall at Siam Paragon in Bangkok. So this is me in 2009, when I was still living and working in Bangkok, Thailand, and was still a newbie fashion blogger at my personal style blog. This is my very first photo with a graffiti wall (I actually don´t know how I came up with that pose), and it´s nothing as gorgeous as Janine´s.
Five and a half years later I had a chance to pose on a graffiti wall yet again. This is me leaning on the popular historical Berlin wall. That moment when I walked through the long wall featuring beautiful graffiti artwork of artists from all over the world was very special.
So you see, I have a big love for graffiti art and that´s why I´m very much excited when I digged these cute graffiti-inspired print dresses and separates from French Connection. If there´s no graffiti in your area, don´t be sad, ´cause you can now have it in your closet. Here are five ways to put your hands on the print.
1. Miami Graffiti Strappy Dress
From the street to formal gatherings, graffiti art is made elegant in this modern cut-out strap dress with dark complementary edgings. Keep the power vibe down to your toes with black strap sandals or peep-toe ankle boots.
2. Miami Graffiti Pleated Skirt
Flattering pleats are a thing for spring and summer seasons but why not level up the galm of your pleated skirt by choosing it in a colorful but polished graffiti print? Whether it´s for work or casual smart gatherings, wear this skirt with a feminine solid top to tone down the print.
3. Miami Graffiti Mini Dress
What I love about this graffiti mini dress is the beautiful blend of coral tones with white and dark. For breezy spring evenings, I´d like to layer this little frock with black leggings, black booties and black leather jacket.
4. Miami Graffiti Pleat Top
This Sleeveless pleated graffiti-print top is very versatile. You can wear it as an under layer for your dark or light colored jackets for the office, wear it causally with midi skirts or skinny jeans, or style it up with high waist pencil skirts or trousers. A hundred style ideas for a stunning printed top as this.
5. Miami Graffiti Organza Dress
Did you know that graffiti print can come in sparkly as well? This ultra-contemporary mini dress is evidence. Clearly, it´s made for warm days when you can be comfortable in your skin. Wear it with no jewelries but a pair of skin-tone booties or high heels.
So what do you think of these graffiti print pieces? Are you ready to give it a try?
