Come spring and out are your best colored pieces – a red dress, a hot floral sundress, gorgeous colored jeans, rainbow cardigans, and many more! But this spring, let´s take a look at the four ways you can update your spring wardrobe with colors and prints. Expect new ways to colorblock and to clash different prints. And of course, lots of bright colors because this is the perfect time to go bold.
Color Splash with Bright Red
Red is always hot so in wearing this color, make sure to have it as the main highlight. Whether it´s a red round skirt to team with a sailor print top or a red dress worn with a striking red necklace, you´re assured to rock a real fabulous look. Keep the red of the accessories in black – black wedge sandals, black watch, black sunglasses.
Pattern on Pattern, Stripes and Prints
Pattern clash isn´t new, right? Well, what´s new in this style idea is using green color as an element in contrast. Wear a green tee under a printed jacket clashing another printed pant, or add a green belt to striped dress worn under a printed cardigan. The bright color will give balance to a team of different patterns thus avoiding an overwhelming result.
Color Splash with Gorgeous Yellow
Yellow is another hot spring color for this year. Did you notice the many beautiful yellow looks from the Spring/Summer runway? Designers such as Gucci, Oscar de la Renta, and Michael Kors made several versions of spring yellow outfits. If you´re thinking of wearing yellow separates, there are two new ways to do it.
First, take a yellow top to go with a pastel crop pant, or you clash two yellow print pieces such as a yellow striped tee and yellow dotted shorts pulled together with a brown blazer. If you´re thinking of wearing a one piece in yellow however, say a yellow trench coat or a yellow dress, black or nude shoes are best to complete them.
Tone On One Colorblocking
While colorblock trend still lingers, choose to level up your ensemble, stick with the tone one new colorblock. This is about color blocking two or three different colors that belong in the same family of color. The first look in the photo above speaks of yellow statement. Choose a yellow print top teamed with a yellow pant, a beige scarf, a white bag, and a yellow colorblocked shoe.
The second look is made of different pieces with colors that belong in the family of green – a mint sweater, a pastel green pant, a green bag, and a dotted cap-toe flat.
