The belted scarf isn´t the only fashion-forward trend that Burberry Prorsum pushed to the stylish public this season, there´s also the colorblock cape, which, as expected, socialites and it-girls such as Olivia Palermo and Rosie Hungtinton-Whitely were first to rock it to the street with knee-high or thigh-high boots.
But for many of us, we´re unable to get our hands on this most-coveted luxury cape because it´s either out of our budget or it´s already out of stock. So what are we to do? Well, what else but to find an alternative. That´s what we´re good at!
Here´s a multi-colored vintage check cape from Topshop which is a close replicate to the fancy Burberry cape, and the three ways to wear it.
1. Vintage Cape with Skort

For fall or spring, wear a wine funnel neck top with a dark gray skort, wrap your neck with a black scarf and cover your legs with black leggings, slip into black knee-high boots and finish up by adding the check cape as your outerwear.

2. Vintage Cape with Leather Pants

If you´re into a hint of leather, pull off a pair of leather pants worn with black rollneck pullover, and throw over the vintage check cape. Choose a wine pointed-toe pump to match the cape, and polish the look with a black scarf and handbag.

3. Vintage Cape with Skinny Jeans

Get the Look: Cape, Sweater, Jeans, Boots
Here´s the casual interpretation for the check cape, with denim skinny jeans. Keep the look light and casual with jeans and dirty white slouchy sweater. And if you can afford it, go for wine knee-high boots to match the check cape, otherwise black or gray boots will work.
What do you think of this vintage check cape? Is it a close alternative to the popular Burberry cape?
