Which season do you wear prints more often? Which season do you wear neutrals regularly? Here at Creative Fashion we don´t care about the season, we want to wear bright colors and striking prints whenever we want and whenever we could!
Two years back I featured some runways looks which inspired me to wear printed long summer dresses in winter. That style idea stuck, since then I´ve always played with my summer dresses and skirts to restyle them for cold seasons. In this post, let´s take a look at several ways we can rework our favorite bright printed pieces – dresses or skirts – from summer to spring and from fall to winter. Literally for every season!
Table of Contents
1. Oversized Drop Waist Dress with Printed Coat
Depending on the area where you live, you may or may not wear this long sleeve purple summer dress especially that it´s made of polyester material. But here in Germany, since our summer consists of mostly breezy days, this little frock can be worn.
I love its drop waist bodice suspended on a ruffled mini skirt. On warmer days I would surely wear it as is with black platforms. But on cold days, I´d layer it over with black tights, black ankle boots, and a midi length floral print coat which is a statement on its own.

2. Multi Print Midi Dress with Mustard Cardigan
Are you looking for a dress which easily transitions from summer to fall? This multicolored floral print has it all – a sweetheart neckline, a gorgeous below the knee skirt which flares as you move, and a sexy front slit which is a result of snap button closures at front.
Once the air turns chilly, layer it up with a colored knit cardigan such as one in mustard, moss green, pastel blue, or if you want to keep it tonal, light pink. Then add some cool black ankle boots.

3. Abstract Print Mod Dress
The abstract print of this vintage-inspired print is really striking. I think the contrast color and all the whites on the print are the reasons why those bright colors pop out so vividly. If you want to stretch its bright look, add a colored coat and some colored shoes to the look, preferably their color is somewhere in the print.
But as for me, I would like the dress to do the talking, so I will wear it under a black or a winter white coat and I will settle on some black pointed toe tall boots. In summer, I will swap the platforms and the boots for some playful sneakers.

4. Colorful Abstract Print Skirt with White Tee
The abstract print of this skirt is the same as of the mod dress above. What I like about this skirt is its baggy style. It´s perfect for girls with boyish shape, especially those with broad shoulders, because this skirt will give them well-defined hips.
You will get a fresh and a little flirty look by teaming it with a fitted white tee. Keep the elements fresh by adding some black platform wedges.
But if you´re pear-shaped, wearing this skirt with a fitted white tee will emphasize your narrow shoulders. Try teaming it with a boxy top or a shirt with shoulder paddings.
If you have big busts, opt for a black or dark teal tops.
5. Vintage Print Dress with Burgundy Coat
You will love this vintage floral dress for a really warm summer because of its mini skirt and open back style. I would definitely wear it with some sexy thong flat sandals.
But how do you rework it for winter? Layer under the dress a fitted (long sleeve) undershirt and black tights, then throw over a burgundy coat. This combination is tonal so it will make you look taller! Add some black heeled tall boots.
Bright prints and florals are our favorites for summer, but they´re not made only for warm days. With the right style inspirations, you will know how to recycle those invested bright prints even for cold seasons.
