Whether it´s for night or day, a romper is the one-piece wonder to have fun in.
And since summer is in full swing on my side of the world, this stunner is my go-to outfit. But I wonder, how many ways can I wear my one-piece without appearing like I´ve nothing else to wear? I mean, it´s ready-to-wear, I just put it on and wa-daa! Yet I also want to feel like I can re-style it for different purposes.
Originally thinking of two or three ideas, this list turned out to be full of inspirations! Here are the many ways we, like some celebs, can make a romper totally a statement-maker.
Table of Contents
1. Low-cut romper + long blazer
Suggested: Tropical Print Convertible Romper
Balance the low-cut style with a smart blazer. Also play with length. A long tuxedo blazer will level up a romper – long on short – and look polish.
2. Have fun with contrasts
Suggested: Black and White Embroidered Romper
Add an element of surprise to your monochromatic romper by opting for a pair of bright shoes, preferably bright colored pumps. Or how about take your cue from Taylor Swift´s taste for bright vintage shoes? Regardless, I`m down to this.
3. A tee/blouse on your romper?
Similar: Olive Green Romper
This really answers my question on a quick way to change the look of the same one-piece. Layer a short top on it – whether a cropped white tee or a knitted pullover – to create an illusion of two-piece. The peek of the same color on your shoulder will giveaway that it is, indeed, a romper.
4. Denim + Lace
You must have heard some people exclaim, “Four seasons in a day!” It does happen quite often here in Europe but hey, if you´re rocking a sweet lace romper, be prepared for transitional weather by toughening it up with a denim jacket.
5. More Layers
Suggested: Weekend Wanderer Denim Blue Romper
Speaking of transitional weather, you can also use the romper as a transitional piece. The is … none other than layering. Tights, cozy tops, and even transparent tops! The key is matching the color of your top to your tights and/or shoes.
6. Cover it up!
Similar: Ivory Backless Lace Romper + Long Cardigan Sweater
Have you seen some expensive rompers that are so cute but look cheap once worn? It´s probably because those one pieces are too revealing. You know, you can`t bend a little without baring half your derriere? The solution is to cover it up. If it´s already too short yet also with spaghetti straps and a backless or a low-cut, throwing over a cardigan will provide some coverage while showcasing only your legs. But if you also want to create drama, opt for a long cardigan sweater.
