Every end of the season, I go through my closet and do some inventory. This is the time when I put out the must-have pieces for the next season and examine each of my latest acquisations whether or not they go at the reserve door or they join the versatile group. The versatile pieces are anything that could be reworked all year round, for layering or for center-piece.
This week at Banana Republic they feature five key pieces that are multi-functional, for work or play. I´m always interested with clothes that can be worn many times in several ways, so if you haven´t seen them at the shop yet, here are the five must-have wardrobe essentials you must be digging right now.
1. A Black Sleeveless Sheath Dress
The best thing about a sleevelss sheath dress is that you only add a great jacket and you´re so prep for the clock. remove the jacket and you´re ready for play. Shape it up with a contrast belt for work or loosen up and feel comfy for party. Wear this black framed sheath dress with a black jacket and pointed pumps to the office, but after five, swap the pumps with snakeskin wedges and go bare shoulders.
2. A Tipped Sweater Jacket
A sweater jacket is probably one of the most versatile you could ever have when it comes to layering. Wear it as a contrast over a bright mono dress to work for a ladylike, polished look, and team it up with your favorite denim jeans and flats when you need a more relaxing yet go-go party outfit.
3. A Bold Trench Coat
Has anybody told you yet that a bold colored coat is fashionistas´must-have? Whether it´s to colorblock, to add a pop of color, or to compliment a printed outfit, a vibrant coat is definitely a need. But this spring, why not style a colored trench coat for something really trendy? Inject some juicy-hued trench to your favorite spring stripes or graphics for extra jolt.
4. A Graphic Skirt
Graphic knit skirt, anyone? You need it to speed up a girly winter look or simply splash some girliness to a spring outfit. It looks great with a colored silk blouse, nice belt, cap-toe pumps, and a brown shoulder bag for play. To wear to work, complete with a black blouse, a tuxedo jacket, and a printed scarf.
5. A Tie-Front Blouse
A tie-front blouse gives a quick girly update to any outfit especially the pants look. This cocoon silk blouse is a classic with a twist. Team up with dark jeans and jacket to work. For casual girly outfit, wear with boyfriend jeans or with colored slim fit jeans.
