If you ask me what spring jackets I have in my closet, I´d show you some leather jackets in black, brown and light pink. I also have a couple of crop double-breasted wool jackets. Now if you ask me what coverups I wear in summer, I´d show you some blazers and cardigans. But what about in between? What about between spring and summer? Sadly, I don´t have any to show you.
This realization hit me when hubby and I spent a week in Berlin. The weather report said that it´s going to be a week of rain and spring breeze. So I packed my thick spring jackets. But when we´re there, we were treated to fresh, breezy spring morning, warm summer noons and early afternoons, then cool summer evenings. The outerwears I had with me were either too hot or too cold for the weather.
It´s in times like this when I wished my wardrobe is also prepared for transitional weathers. But it´s clear, when you´re transitioning from spring to summer, you need lightweight jackets. Here are some cool lightweight jackets to steal, plus how to wear them.
Play it cool and fresh with this crop jersey jacket which is a better alternative to cardigan. Wear it with a cozy white tee, boyfriend jeans, and flat sandals.
Long harem pants and cotton tees are an ideal tandem for casual ensembles. You only need a gorgeous jersey blazer to add a smart edge to the look.
In late spring, leather biker jackets are already too hot. Opt for this soft suede biker jacket instead for a sumptuously fashion-forward yet comfy look. Try it with a pair of relaxed trousers and a vest top.
The best thing about an easy fit jersey blazer is you can wear it with anything and you can dress it up or down. If you´re not wearing it with boyfriend jeans (seen above), wear it with dressy shorts and smoking slippers. Denim shorts and flat ankle boots would work too.
What are your favorite lightweight jackets for spring, summer and in between?
