Two summers ago there was fashion frenzy for floral trousers, at least in the city where I live, and wherever I turned, I almost always spotted some florals walking down the street. They often belonged to young adults. Transitioning from trendy twenties to a more elegant thirties´ style, I spent some time in a dresser room figuring out if I should purchase the pair of floral trousers which I fancied.
I wasn´t really sure how many times I could wear them, or if they´d look great on me. But when hubby saw me after I put them on, he urged me to get them. In fact, he paid for them. You can see me wearing the should-I-buy-them floral pants to a floral festival here (Word of caution: You may be amused with my weird smile there).

No darling, I wasn´t referring to your brassiere, no need to let them peek out of your top. But instead of settling for skinnies all the time, how about a stylish loose floral trousers once in a while? Keep it chic with simple white button-down but bold with platforms that have a hint of neon.
2. Go Head to Toe

The good thing about going for a set of suit and trousers in floral print is, you need not think of what to wear with them. It´s buy them and wear them. Unless otherwise if you´d want to break your suit, for a change.
3. Style them Classy

The downside of floral bottoms, especially with trousers, is that they can easily look overly casual if you´re not careful. In order to keep things elegant, subdue the print with a minimalist top and a clean jacket. A tip to remember, white, nude and pastel colors mute down the print, while black and other dark shades pop it out.
4. Temper with Black

If the colors in your floral print are already muted, such as green, light pink, or dark, wearing them with all black – top, pumps and bag – will give you a polished result.

After I shared my floral trousers outfit, the one I mentioned above, a friend left a comment below the post. She wondered if a petite woman like her could also wear them. Well, I myself is petite. But it´s true, floral trousers can make you look shorter if you go for large blooms in shocking colors. Go instead for small floral print and keep the entire look tonal, from your top down to your heels, in order to look taller.
6. Stick to Dark Florals

If wearing too girl floral trousers a no-no for you, go for black florals instead. If you opt for black floral trousers with a matching suit jacket, and complete them with black pumps, you have a powerful look that will do great even to work.
