Huishan Zhang, Neil Barrett, J.W. Anderson, Ostwald Helgason
Online retailer My-wardrobe.com introduced the London Lab, a collection of twelve high-end brands for fall/winter seasons and beyond by homegrown designers. The idea is inspired by the fact that “London is again thriving and moving forward”, as the e-commerce site´s fashion director Carmen Borgonovo has put it. British designers are known to have a clear vision and not being afraid to push limits, so lots of promising fine pieces are to be expected from the Lab.
Some designs are upon reach with prices starting from 70 pounds, or $108.69 at current exchange, to the more luxurious investment pieces of $1,490 pounds, or $2,313.52.
Huishan Zhang Chinese-Inspired Modern Dress
There are three dresses, a coat and a jacket by Huishan Zhang featured in the Lab. And to be honest, I love all of them. The idea of his label is to fuse Chinese tradition with Western influences and modernity. Femininity and intricate detailing are evident in his work.
And yet my first pick is this sleeveless wool and lace dress. Notice its perfectly tailored cut and well-balanced embellishment. A pair of black, velvet pointed court shoes and a glitter clutch bag will polish the look.

Ostwald Helgason Bonded Stripe Skirt
Never be afraid to inject your fall wardrobe with flair. This structured utilitarian chic bonded stripe skirt by Ostwald Helgason will effortlessly deliver that. Balance the pattern with a round collar white shirt and all-out glamorous pointed pumps.
Ostwald Helgason´s label is described by modern shapes updated with fresh dimension through textured and tactile fabrication.
Neil Barrett Masculine Knit Sweater
I picked this Neil Barrett cable knit rollneck jumper just because it´s already quite cold on my side of the world and I´m so in need of gorgeous, chunky sweaters. But actually, I also love Neil Barrett´s faux leather panel shirt, the wool coat and pea coat from the Lab. The designer is renowned for his precise silhouettes and minute attention to detail. The principle for his fall/winter collection is masculine leaning, streamlined styling, and perfect fit.
Neil Barrett Masculine Knit Sweater
This sweater is about wide lines and oversized checks perfect to flatter a mini skirt and be polished with over-the-knee leather boots. J.W. Anderson has four sweaters featuring grid and floral patterns that are featured in the lab.
There´s also a structured tunic, a belted tank, an A-line skirt, and ruffled shorts. The designer gets ahead by exploring the relationship between boy and girl and blurs the lines of gender in each of his collections. His sweaters are meant to team up with 3.1 Phillip Lim thigh high mid heel pointed boot.
