Teaming sweater with skirt is my quick and go-to combination when I need to look dressy in cold seasons. For example, I always try to look put-together when I go to church. But when it´s freezing cold I also want to feel snugly. A nice, elegant sweater teamed with a skirt and layered with tights is my way to go. Of course, I always finish it up with boots … or booties.
And yet, through the years of braving winter and trying to look stylish despite the frost, I have also created many casual combinations of sweaters and skirts, outfits that I like to wear with a parka that hits just a little below my hips and a pair of laced up winter booties.
My love for mixing sweaters and skirts inspired this blog post because yeah, who can resist the lovely looks from the runway?
1. Red Cozy Sweater + Gray Wrap Skirt
Love, love this red dropped shoulder sweater with puffy sleeves partnered with gray wrap-around skirt. Layer it with capri tights and matched with leopard print pumps in fall, or with long tights and tall boots in winter.
2. Blue Oversize Sweater + Purple Skirt
I´m not sure about how´s fall in your area but over here in Europe, it means bright earthy tones. To kind of standout from the surrounding vividness, matching a light blue sweater with a purple skirt and white shoes is a good idea.
3. Nude Wool Sweater Nude Pencil Skirt
I find a nude wool sweater really cozy. And for petite women like me, teaming it with a nude fitting skirt will lengthen my vertical line. Sleek tights and black ankle boots are great to finish the look.
4. Boy Crazy Sweater + Polka Dot Skirt
I got a very similar look to this in my wardrobe. that´s why when I saw this runway look, I´m like, “Oh, that´s so me!” I will finish it with black tights and wine laces-up booties in winter, but probably with bare legs and black oxford flats in early fall.
What do you think, girls? Are you into mixing sweaters and skirts when the weather calls for cozy outfits?
