One thing that excites me for fall are colored coats. Because the temperature isn´t too cold to freeze, you have more freedom to style your coat. We speak of bright colors throughout spring and summer, but as the leaves and trees turn orange, brown and gray in fall, all the more that we should wear colors.
Coat as an outerwear is a window to your inner style. If you want to sink into the background, it´s safe to wear dark-colored coats, but if you´re to standout from the crowd and make a statement, I definitely suggest colored coats.
I´ve been flipping pages of my favorite online shops and in particular, I found inspirations from La Reduote on how to stylishly wear bright-colored coats this fall.
Table of Contents
Military Fitted Style Coat with Contrast Belt
Look smart in fall by wearing a military-inspired coat that fits well on you, preferably one that hits halfway your thigh. Accent your coat with a bright contrast belt, we´re digging slim pony tail belt in yellow. Complete the look with wedge sandals or brown ankle boots.
Pink Coat as a Highlight
To make your bright-colored coat really shine out, wear it as a coverup for an all-black outfit – black top, black pants and black shoes. Your coat will do all the talking.
Mustard Yellow Coat on White Dress
This is so far my favorite look! A mustard colored coat (mustard is a color trend for fall!) worn unbuttoned on top of a white dress gathered together with a slim brown belt. Remember the rule of length, the coat should be an inch longer than your dress or vice-versa. This look flatters any body type especially the pear shape because the cinching at the waist creates imaginary curve.
Colored Coat as a Dress
Blake Lively famously wore a coat as a dress to a fashion party. Many questioned her style but it´s undeniable that she pulled the look off and she looked great. For your fall version, look for a straight cut (stretchable), double-breasted coat preferably with road neck, in color that flatters your skin tone. Wear it as a dress and add a pair of statement pumps.
So tell me girls, how would you wear colored coat for fall? Are colored coats actually in your list for fall fashion must-haves?
I am planning to add a bright coat to my closet this Fall…but for now I am looking forward to summer attire 😉
