There are textures and silhouettes which strongly exude femininity such as lace, floral, pencil skirt and airy mini dresses. They are great if you want to top your girliness, but how about on times when you also want to inject a little bit of tomboy personality, how are you going to play sporty in feminine pieces?
Rebecca Minkoff brought some seriously steal worthy style ideas on the stage during her Spring 2014 RTW fashion show. Here are three ways to look kindá athletic while still utterly womanly.
1. Bomber Jacket and Lace Pencil Skirt
The other day we learned how to wear lace like a pro in summer; today let´s talk about how to wear lace like a varsity player. I was never a varsity player although my best friend in college was a varsity for volleyball. Anyhoo, that doesn´t stop me from wanting to dress up like I was one.
Want to rework that midi lace pencil skirt wore to work and to parties for the street? Partner it with a graphic tee, add a bomber jacket, and wear a pair of multi print pumps.
2. Sundress with Tall Peep-Toe Boots
It´s time to rock those striking tall boots for summer which feature peep-toe style and cutouts. Choose an empire waist or drop waist summer mini dress to wear with your sporty boots and keep your accessories to a minimum. Complement the look with an equally sporty clutch.

3. Boxy Top with Feminine Short
For this look, pick a dressy pair of shorts – lace, floral or high waist – to wear with a boxy top or a loose tee. If you go for a high waist, try it with a crop boxy top. If you opt for midrise lace shorts, try it with a soft white tee, insert your tee just on the front and let the back drape freely. The biggest sporty statement of your look comes from your shoes; top it up with tall gladiator shoes.
