There are many things I love about summer. Not only is my mood always good, I also enjoy wearing all the cute little pieces and showing off my legs in mini dresses, skirts and shorts.
This weather is getting warmer on my side of the world, at least starting this week, and this inspires me to have a good look at what gorgeous mini pieces I would love to wear to go leggy and sexy.
This is going to be a series. I´d like to start with the pieces I found over at Lulus.
Table of Contents
1. Ruffled Mini Dress

What´s not to love about ruffles? It hides anything that you´d like hidden. So even if I´m bloated from a big meal, everything is safe. Afterall, this look is about the legs.
A ruffled mini dress like this is perfect for Apple shaped women who are rounded in the belly area but have a great pair of legs to show off.

2. Embroidered Mini Skirt

This is really cute but it´s also too short. When I was younger, I had no problem rocking skirts this short. But now that I´m a mom, in my late thirties, and although my legs are still as lean as when I was young, they´re no longer as perfect. Thanks to my pregnancy, my legs now boasts some unwelcome spider web veins.
So truth be told, I´m not as confident with my legs as I used to be. Also, I don´t really think that short skirts like this are still appropriate for my age, at least not if worn with bare skin. Does that mean I´m turning away from short skirts? Heck, no way! What I do instead is wear them with black opaque tights and some stiletto high heels. Now I`m all about the shape of my legs than showing off my skin.
But if you´re still young, enjoy wearing short skirts.
3. Tiered Ruffle Mini Dress

With tiered ruffled dresses, there´s always that girly element from your childhood. It´s like you´re forever young. Always a girl.
I don´t think ruffles discrimate any age group. Even if you´re older, as long as you´re young in heart, you´re FREE to wear tiered ruffles.
4. Paper Bag Waist Shorts

I love this paper bag white shorts. It´s like embracing your youth in a more mature way, if that makes sense?
You´re still oozing sexiness, but it´s more subtle. You can wear it with crop top and some loose cardigans or jackets. But I like to wear mine with a simple white t-shirt, tucked in.
5. Ruched Long Sleeve Mini Dress

I´m not a big fan of ruching because it can make you appear bigger, if ruching is done in the wrong places. But I like thi ruching in this dress. It´s hugs the body, so it won´t add you volume.
6. Puff Sleeve Skater Dress

Similar Dresses: White Backless Puff Sleeve Mini Skater Dress and Black Puff Sleeve Tiered Mini Dress
I´m still a huge fan of skater silhouettes. I´m not sure if I´ll ever get tired of it. I also love the puff sleeve effect of this super pretty lemon print dress. But it´s square neckline will flatter only women with adequate bossom. Sadly, I have to pass on it.
7. Ruffled Long Sleeve Wrap Dress

Similar: Striped Long Sleeve Tiered Swing Dress
There´s a lot of gorgeous things happening in this dress. For a start, it´s a wrap dress, a silhouette which flatters almost any shape, and then it also features high-low hems and layers of ruffled tiers. It´s not only flirty, it´s also ultra-feminine.
8. Puff Sleeve Mini Dress

Similar: Cream Flutter Sleeve Mini Dress
I really love country-inspired dresses such as this. And I´m also a big lover of puff sleeves. Like literally most of my sweaters and tops right now are balloon or puffed sleeves. But the best feature of this dress that I most adore is its open back with tying detail at top (click the link to see the back view.)
However, due to its square front neckline, it won´t flatter me because I have flat chests. I would love to find a dress similar to this but with a more conservative neckline. I like all the drama to happen in the back.
Otherwise, this dress is super cute.
9. Embroidered Lace-Up Dress

Similar: Ivory Floral Lace Satin Slip Dress
This dress reminds me of my go-to dressy looks when I was in my middle twenties. I´d pick-up a slip dress like this and then layer it with a bolero cardigan. I really enjoyed wearing that look, so much so that I still kept those dresses and cardigans.
So yes, this slip dress definitely got to be in the list!
