Invitations for evening parties are rolling in. “What evening dresses should I wear?” is the question that occupies me lately when I’m not blogging or writing my next book. Why not? Spring is almost here, and once the frost of winter is over, it´s time to party! Yay!
Seriously though, have you started inventory-ing your closet for spring? If you too tend to get invited to more parties in spring, and especially in summer, here are four gorgeous night out ideas you can consider. They feature above the knee, mini dresses that are pretty and feminine.
Table of Contents
1. Red Drop Waist Structure Dress
What I love about short dresses is that, although they´re formal for a cocktail party, they´re more casual than the lady-of-the-night long evening dresses. First in my pick is this stunning red drop wait dress which mimics the silhouette of a trumpet skirt. In fact, if you add a slim belt on the waist, you would get just that, a trumpet skirt!
Because it has a deep V-neck, it elongates your neck (meaning, makes you look thinner) and adds width to your shoulder (meaning, it´s best if you´re a pear!). Add a pair of leg lengthening metallic sandals for a polished result.
2. Blush Cap Sleeve Scoop Back Mini Dress
Feminine and totally pretty, I love this blush spring dress which features double cap sleeves and a volume skirt. The double cap will emphasize your shoulders so it may not look best on you if you have significantly broad shoulders. I´d like to complete the look with a snake textured city-chic dress sandal and a black bottle-like capsule clutch.
3. Ombre One-Shoulder Cocktail Dress
Inject a dose of drama to your night-out ensemble this spring by opting for this one shoulder ombre frock. It features a gorgeous saturation of wine and black, and it fits perfectly with this syrah satchel from Halston. I recommend completing the look with pointed toe pumps, preferably DO´rsay to lengthen your legs.
4. Silver Diamond Jacquard Fit-and-Flare Dress
We´re definitely not done with fit and flare dresses just yet, and that´s the reason why I´m including this jacquard metallic textured flare dress. It features allover diamond pattern and bow at waist, as well as a contrast-hued hemline. Wear it with a rose, goatskin nudist sandal. This should define what it means to rock a subtly bold ensemble.
