Summer is getting closer which means it’s time to clean your wardrobe and find perfect outfits for warmer days. Sometimes, it might be a struggle to find summer clothes that can still be worn at the office. Summer is so much more than denim short shorts and flower crowns and I give you some ideas of how to take your summer pieces to work whilst remaining elegant.
1- Be color crazy :
Summer is the perfect time to wear bright colours that you would not usually choose. You can mix and match different colours, such as orange and blue, like this beautiful Alberta Ferretti dress. It’s the perfect time to be creative and to play with colours, textures and patterns. If you are not ready to rock completely the look, you can choose only to add only some bright accessories to your outfit, such as this blue bag or red jewellery. Choose bright shoes or sandals to match your outfit and you will be ready for a beautiful summer day.

2- Pink it up :
Pink is the perfect color for summer and instead of only choosing one pink item, go completely pink. At Elie Saab, they paired high-waist flared pants with a sheer floral top. Flared pants are perfect for work because they are elegant and very comfortable. You can finish the outfit with pink pumps to get the perfect look. Choose which shade of pinks works better for you, whether it’s baby pink or fuchsia, depending on your skin tone.

3- Mix and match :
Don’t be scared to mix different patterned items like we saw on Emporio Armani models. To obtain an optimal summer look, use different floral patterns, but try to keep items from the same color palette. Add a pair of coloured sunglasses and nude sandals and you are ready to go. If you choose this trend, try to keep accessories to a minimum, since your outfit is already drawing a lot of attention. Choose a nude bag to fit your sandals and avoid statement jewellery.

4- Metallic items :
Metallic has been a huge trend on the runways for this summer and you can definitively wear it to work. You can pair a metallic (or sequin) blazer with baroque black elegant pants. It’s perfect to create a perfect office outfit. Add black pumps and a black satchel and you will be as chic as trendy. This outfit is not very colourful for summer, but metallic pieces will bring a lot of style and your look will be anything but boring. Don’t be scared to add some metallic pieces to your everyday outfits. However, be careful not to go completely metallic, because you might end up looking like a character of a science-fiction movie.

5- Back in time:
Wear a flared skirt to get a vintage elegant look that will make all of your co-workers jealous. Flared skirts are synonyms of femininty and elegance. They are perfect alternatives to office straight skirts and suits. In the summer, wear them in pastel shades with a black floral sheer blouse, like we saw at Oscar de la Renta show. Add a black pump for elegance and a bright statement necklace to add some more color.
