Runway Inspired: Fall Boho-Chic Looks

Boho-chic is the number one trend during summer festivals such as the Californian music festival Coachella.  Even if many people are associating this very cool trend to summer, it was the basis of the Burberry Prorsum fall-winter 2014-2015 collection. The midi flouncy dresses were paired with coats to keep you warm during the colder days.  The warm colours such as brown, beige, burgundy and black were prevailing instead of light pastel colours.  The dresses were not showing much floral patterns, which would be more summery, but more geometric prints.

To create a fall boho-chic look, it’s really easy to reuse some pieces we’ve got for summer such as belts, lace up heels and brownish handbags.  What’s really going to make the look appropriate for fall and winter is the neutral colours, the coat you will add over and the prints on the dress.

To recreate the first look, choose a light dress showing some skin (but not too much) and with purple, green and yellow accents.  The abstract patterns on the dress pair well with the simple beige loose pockets coat.  Add a belt to define the waist and try to find the most original bag to go with your outfit. At Burberry Prorsum, the bag was full of colours and images.  Finish the outfit with some lace up heels. You could choose to add a printed scarf to make the look even more eclectic and bohemian.

For this second look, choose a midi dress with geometric patterns.  The black, blue and burgundy accents pair well with the bags of ethnic inspirations.  Once again, it might be hard to find a bag similar to the Burberry Prorsum one, so just choose an original one that you like. The main piece of this look is probably the beige wool coat.  Those pieces, very famous in the 70s, are coming back and you could easily find them in thrift shops.  Once again, finish the look with a embroidered belt to define the waist and lace up heels.
