There are many pretty summer dresses that are so gorgeous you want to wear them even to work. But because of their sleeveless style, you have double thoughts. The solution? Layer over it a jacket.
1. Plaid Boat Neck Fit and Flare Dress with Nude Jacket
I really, really love this plaid dress from Anne Klein. It gives the fit and flare silhouette a twist by adding a matching tied belt. It has a boat neck, which makes it easy to dress down with flats for an afternoon barbecue party, or dress up with some nude ankle strap high heels for a cocktail party.
But to wear it to work? You can too! Throw over a latte open jacket, add some dress sandals, or better yet, nude pumps, and grab a dark brown satchel.
2. Cotton Pique A Line Dress with Pockets with Black Jacket
You may feel conscious wearing a body-hugging dress especially in floral print to the office. Too feminine? The solution is to toughen it up with a black office blazer. You can also opt for a peplum jacket which will follow the line of your dress.
Balance the black jacket with a black handbag, but avoid black pumps for this dress because it will overwhelm the look. Instead, go for some nude heels to lengthen your legs.
3. Floral Sheath Dress with White Blazer
Because this floral sheath dress features blooming party pink florals with hints of black, partnering it with black heels is no brainer. You can also throw over a black office jacket, but I prefer a white one to really allow the print to float out. Because we want the dress to do the talking, add a complementary handbag in faded lilac or light pink.
Now tell me, girls, what do you think of these printed dresses worn with a jacket to work? Which look is your favorite?
