We know that even if poncho is known for keeping you warm and cozy on cold days, it´s also designed to cover you up even on warm summer days just as I discussed in the article, how to wear poncho – your all year guide to styling ponchos like a pro. But personally, I wear ponchos in fall and in spring, when the weather is cold but not down to deadly freezing level.
I love both short and long knitted ponchos especially those with puffy collars or with cowl neck. I wear them with dark skinnies or layered denim shorts and dark tights. For this coming spring, here are some pretty ponchos I´ve my eyes on.
BB Dakota Juniors Dupree Poncho, $120.00 now $84.99
It´s oversize, printed and in dominant blue, and comes with a wide neck. I´d layer it with turtle neck or cowl neck sweater on a chilly day and team with black leather skinny pants and nude suede boots with fur.
Jones New York Women’s V-Neck Poncho, $79.00 now $50.36
This v-neck poncho has a lot of spring elements in it. I so love its lake blue multi-colored print. It´s perfect to pair with mustard skinny colored jeans and some fall riding boots. To keep things cozy, layer under the poncho a white button down shirt.
JET Corp Women’s Two Tone Poncho, $176.00 now $79.20
A two-tone poncho with corp-inspired style and navy color isn´t something you´d see anywhere. It has a masculine-chic sophistication which is topped fully if tempered with a pair of dark blue flare jeans and platforms.
Volcom Juniors Machu Peaches Poncho, $69.50 now $50.07
Comes with a very youthful ambiance, this junior style poncho features a hood and adjustable drawstring and fringe at the hem as well as zipper closure. I fancy its hot coral print.
BB Dakota Juniors Uri Sweater, $110.00 now $65.99
With all the above ponchos, this one is my best. Despite the few negative reviews it received, I´m not turned off at all, simply because the truth is, this isn´t a poncho for everyone. Its oversized style and butterfly wing sleeves will not flatter a curvy figure, instead, it will add weight on the wearer. But this will look great on a slim figure especially if teamed with dark skinnies and dark riding boots.
Do you adore ponchos for fall and spring? How do you wear it? Which of the above ponchos would be your pick-me-up?
