It´s a breath of fresh air to see femininity being embraced at its core on the runway. And what´s more feminine than clean, nude looks? Delicate. Soft. And elegant. These are the things that come to mind when I see nude colors — beige, cream, and sometimes pastel pink.
The nude color trend is about wearing the color that match your skin. Thus, it´s fair to say that what we often see on the runway — which eventually translate to stores — are nude colors for lighter skin.
But if you have a darker skin, like I do, finding the right nude color can be tricky. I think the only solution to this is to shop offline which will allow you to compare the color against your skin.
This isn´t an easy task to do, for sure. That´s why until now I still haven´t found clothes with the right nude color for my skin. Yet it could also be that I just didn´t look harder.
Thankfully, just because you have a darker skin doesn´t mean you can´t wear the light nude looks. As long as you know how to identify which shades flatter your skin, you´re good to go.
Here are some nude colors to consider — both for light and darker skin tones.
Table of Contents
1. A Nude Dress Layered with a Pink Jacket
Judging from the picture this midi dress is a very faded pink tone. But it´s difficult to identify the exact shade solely from the picture. It can be darker in real. I layered it with a light pink blazer, just a little bit darker than the dress, to really level up the femininity vibe.
And then I added a pair of nude pink blush high heels in satin, which unfortunately sold out before I could publish this blog post. But you get the idea … I´m trying to match the shoes to the blazer. The result is very cohesive and polished.
2. Casual Button Down Shirt in Nude Pink

Here´s another nude pink dress which I think has a more purple tone in it than pink. But then again, it´s hard to be certain just based from the picture. It´s a long sleeve button-down shirt. You can roll up the sleeves into half with a tie.
This is perfect for a late spring or summer casual look. I finished up the look with some soft nude sandals and a straw bag.
3. A Feminine Nude Outfit for Work

This midi cocktail dress is in camel color. It can be the perfect nude color for some tanned skin. It´s very elegant and sophisticated but not too feminine for work. With the right shoes, you can wear it even to the office or to a business meeting.
The hazelnut snakeprint dress pumps match the color of the dress, so even if your shoes are printed, the result is totally polished. I would polish the look with a black structured bag.
4. Fabulous in Nude Coctail Party Dress

This cocktail dress is either in a very, very light pink or a sand white hue. It´s hard to tell. But I love the style of the dress. I´m also inspired to mimic the Rocha runway look (see top photo) by pairing the dress with a yellow or gold sandals with tassels in front. Unfortunately, I didn´t find some shoes with tassels that I liked.
But as you can see for this lookbook, the dress offers a myriad of possibilities when it comes to your shoes. Either go for a pair of nude high heels or some attention-grabbing gold heels.
5. Romantic Dress in Soft Nude
Here´s a very romantic look that I so love. I can see myself wearing it to a beachside dinner date with my man. How gorgeous?! Sexy and playful.
It´s a beige dress with lots of ruffles. (But it´s also available in different colors.)
Some flat sandals and a straw bag are perfect to complete the look.
Nude Dresses for Darker Skin Tones
Here are some nude dresses for tanner or darker skin colors. Colors include light to darker camel hues and shades of brown.
What do you think of the nude color trend for spring? Is it something you like to incorporate in your wardrobe?
