I and my hubby were shopping for winter hats four months ago when I spotted this leopard print cape poncho hanging along with other ponchos and oversized shawls on a rack. I went to check it out closer but was dismayed to find it too big on me. A petite Asian in this part of Europe, hunting for clothes and shoes exactly my size is a challenge.
Living with the mantra “good fit first”, I hesitantly abandoned my find. But on our way home, I couldn´t be at peace and convinced hubby to take a detour. I came home that night with this animal print number.
Even more challenging than wearing animal print jacket is styling an oversized cape poncho. I used a black wide belt to keep this cape close to my body and to give some shape. The least I wanted was to have my size look disproportioned in a wild print outerwear. As you can see, it actually looks like a coat.
White sweater, black tights, nude pumps and black clutch were enough to finish the look. This outfit is perfect for Spring, when you enjoy the sun and great weather but detest the sudden chilly wind that awaits to hit any moment.
beautiful pictures..i love it!! great styling with that over sized cape
I think you’ve found a very nice cape! The print is great and it looks like it could be quite versatile to wear in the styling, which is good. 🙂
Your outfit looks so chic Glee! That’s great that you made the animal print poncho work for you by using a nice wide black belt. You really pull off the look so well 🙂
