Barbara Bui, Céline, Band of Outsiders
Many fashionistas think that white is best only in summer. Well, my white jeans, white sweater and blue military coat for fall outfit disproves that notion. But did you know that you can actually style up a big white for winter looks? We´ve seen runway models sport such white winter mix but don´t think it´s just for the runway, this post will decipher how we can translate their outfits into street looks. Whether it´s a white coat, a pair of white pants, white sweater, or a long white skirt you´re eyeing for, rest assured that you won´t go wrong in white and you can still stay cozy even on cold days.
Military Coat with White Knits
Coat, Sweater, Pants, Handbag, Boot
As seen on Barbara Bui runway, a long dark coat looks great on top of cream cowl knit sweater and white pants. But if you´re wearing it for winter, swap the heels for black ankle boots. This complete look is perfect for you if you´re tall, but if you´re petite, go for knee-length coat.
White Coat over Blue Pants
Coat, Sweater, Pants, Handbag, Boot
I personally prefer white especially ivory-white outerwear over black simply because they look cleaner. Black quickly populate dust-like strands, fur or tiny fibers on its cloth and they´re very visible. White wool coat may capture the same particles as black coat does but because they aren´t visible, they look more polished. If you´re like me, then this mix is for you – white oversized menswear-inspired coat or a white trench coat worn over a cream cowl sweater with prints on top, and dark blue pants.
Knit Cardigan with White Long Skirt
Cardigan, Turtleneck, Skirt, Shoulder Bag, Boots
As seen on Band of Outsiders´ stage, white long skirt can be worn even on cold days. The trick is to layer it heavy. Wear a gray pullover with your wool or heavy linen skirt and layer over a long knitted gray cardigan sweater. If the warmth isn´t enough, add a middle layer between your turtleneck and knitted cardigan, and wear tights under your skirt. Finish off with stone, knee-length boots.
What do you think of white for winter? How would you wear a white mix and still feel cozy on cold days?
Great minds seem to think a like- I love white for winter! Who needs rules anyways? 😉

Miranda
That´s definitely true, Miranda, there´s no concrete rules for white and we don´t need to fit ourselves in the box especially in terms of style.
