It´s almost hard to believe that not too long ago, pants on women were considered great evil, an ultimate fashion don´t! Can you imagine how difficult life is without pants? When you hit the gym, when you go for a long stroll or when you navigate from day to night activities, you only have skirts as options? Ha! We must be very lucky to live in an era when pants are acceptable everywhere – from work to public gatherings to the streets of downtown – because they´re very comfortable, provide great coverage, and for some cuts, make you look leggy.
From a day at work to a night date, pants are your go-to basic, and they go with everything, for a whole lot of options. Below are 3 ways to wear your pants fabulously.
1. Classic Cut
If there´s a pair of pants that are best to deliver you fabulously from the office to the boardroom and business meetings, they´re the pants that are classic with very few details. My favorite formal look for this item are the cuffed trousers. They look great with pumps. I love pairing them with an interesting top in gorgeous details, and giving them a twist by throwing over a not-matching jacket, but in flourishing color. It´s best to add texture to the look.
2. Hot Casual
For trips like museum-hopping, mall shopping or weekend girlfriends date, pull out a casual pants – in cotton poplin, mohair or other casual materials. In place of a jacket, pair it with a bright blue cardigan, or a V-neck orange sweater, or in any unexpected colors. They got to be fun and active. Go for casual but fun shoes too, such as these Seopard shoes and peep-toe, old gold metallic heels. You can go for interesting flats too. Very casual chic!
3. Dress It Up
It´s often better to dress up a pair of simple pants – black trousers in simple shapes. In fact, simple black pants, at least two pairs in different cuts, are a must in a fashionista´s closet. Dress up your sleek black pants, or a pair with tuxedo stripes, by pairing it with a gorgeous silk top, preferably ruffled or bowed. Add shimmer and feminity by finishing it with metallic or beaded jacket, or cardigan.
So tell me Creative Fashionistas, how do you fabulously wear your go-to basic pants?
