If you´re one of those girls who find head-to-toe leopard print tacky, and someone who doesn´t bear enough confidence to pull off an animal print jacket and yet you adore this trend, then wearing leopard print shoes is your option. Animal print shoes subtly inject this luxurious print on your look without looking too loud.
You can go for leopard print boots, animal print ballet flats, or pumps, your options are endless. When it comes to wearing leopard print, the rule of thumb is to tone it down. Since leopard print shoes are already a statement, you need very less and only low-key accessories. Below are 4 looks to help you style your leopard print shoes.

Create a Casual-Smart Look
Olivia Palermo wore a fur trim cardigan over an ivory top teamed with a sleek gray pants to the Ermenegildo Zegna A/W 2012 runway show at Milan Men’s Fashion Week. Brown belt and calf-hair mulberry leopard heels were her stand out accessories. To create a casual-smart outfit to go with your leopard print shoes, go for a basic gray and brown combo and let your shoes do most of the talking.
Wear with an LBD
Carey Mulligan turned heads with this “chocolate-hued satin dress and skyscraper leopard print high heels”. To give other fashionistas a serious fashion envy, wear your fab leopard print shoes with a little BLACK dress or a little BROWN dress with very minimum accessories.
Mix with Bright and Floral Trend
One clever way of toning down an animal print other than wearing it with muted colors is by mixing it with some equally loud pieces such as the current hottest trend – bold floral prints. Rachel Bilson was seen pairing her leopard print pumps with a hot floral blouse tucked in colored jeans.
Leopard Shoes
Work with Leather
Like Alessandra Ambrosio, you can accessorize a pair of black leather pants and black blazer with gorgeous leopard print shoes. To balance the print of your footwear, layer under the jacket a similar attention-grabbing tank (think sequined or gold patterned tops). The peek of print on your upper part will distract the eye from focussing only on your shoes.
Have Your Say
So tell me Creative Fashionistas, which of the above looks inspire you to style your pair of leopard print shoes? How do you wear animal print pumps?
Leopard is very versatile I think. I love my Leopard print ballet flats. Pumps might be my next splurge but I’m looking for a short heel, not too high.
I love leopard, it’s great with Olivia’s knit cardigan and love the leather pants look in the first image.
I NEED a pair of leopard pumps!
I have a great pair of D&G print pumps that I got thrifted. They are my go-to shoe to slap a blah piece into shape. I also like to wear them as a neutral shoe. Tricky but it pushes the envelope. Nice site!
