We saw a comeback of leather trend from the Fall 2012 Couture runway shows. Designers like Bouchra Jarrar and Gustavo Lins used leather to create sexy and edgy ensembles. Whether you´re a fan of real leather or a vegan advocate of alternative materials such as synthetic leather, it´s worth to note the new ways to wear leather from the stage.
Wear Leather Tops with Skirts
Bouchra Jarrar (left and middle outfits) created cute leather tops to team with skirts. He styled a sleeveless casual cropped top with deep V-neck and paired it with two-toned (nude and black) bias skirt. He also crafted a sleeveless belted double-chested jacket which looked very feminine when paired with a light blue skirt.
Gustavo Lins (right) on the other hand, went for edgy and powerful leather look. His halter and cropped leather top teamed with matching black leather pencil skirt speaks plenty of attitude.
Wear Leather as Outerwear
Gustavo Lins also designed leather outerwears. You´ll see here a leather top coat worn over skinny black pants finished with black pumps. He also threw a leather jacket over that leather pencil skirt look. But what I love the most in these ensembles is the long sleeveless vest with big standing collars worn over a purple long dress. It´s quite exquisite!
What do you think of these leather looks? How would you wear leather for fall?
I like to wear leather either as a jacket or as a pair of high waisted shorts!
I’ve been browsing constantly over many leather pieces. It’s hard to find a cool and grungy vibe of leather skirt or shorts for me. Or some that are killer pieces are way too pricey. Blah.
