If you are wondering how to wear bright colored blazers with style, these seventeen tips on wearing bright blazers will surely inspire you.
Last Friday I was window shopping with my husband when I spotted a super gorgeous Olympian blue blazer with gold buttons from Mango. The color is so striking that I just couldn´t not buy it. However, as I walked out the store with the jacket, I wasn´t really sure how to style it without looking like an overwhelmed, wannabe fashionista.
Look Your Best
Do you want to know how to flatter your shape, feel more confident, love your body, and look your best? Learn how to dress your body type.
I really can use some inspiration from some celebrity fashionistas such as Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria, as well as from Pinterest.
A bright colored blazer will clearly pop if paired with some neutral colors such as black or white. I´m loving how Jessica Alba looked street cool in her pop blue blazer paired with a black tank, some Current/Elliott ‘The Stiletto’ star print jeans, and Givenchy sandals. Eva Longoria looked equally gorgeous, chic and cheery, in her yellow pop blazer worn with all white – white tank and white jeans. A light orange handbag and nude sandals were perfect finishing to the look.
Let´s go ahead and dive in to the tips!
1. How to wear bright blazers: The Pop Blue Blazer
You can either copy exactly Jessica Alba´s look or you can recreate it, team your color pop blazer with a white tee and black shorts, complete with spiked white loafers or black smoking slippers. Add a great leather bag in black.
2. The Cheery Yellow Blazer
A bright yellow like mustard looks great when mixed with white. You can either wear it with a white top and white pants, or opt for a white/black print pants to add more interest, then slip into sexy black pumps.
Just like the pop out bright blue and yellow jackets, pink and green jackets look great with neutrals colors too. However, you may add some pattern, such as stripes or polka dot (in black and white) or add a distraction by wearing a black cropped top.
3. The Sweet Pink Blazer
This rose pink blazer isn´t just popping out because of its brightness, it´s also speaking out clearly because of its style, V drape. It looks great with this leaf print skinnies but you can also team it with other white or ivory and black printed pants. Complete the look with black ankle boots or black pumps.
4. The Smart green blazer
Keep things smart with green jacket, wear it with all black from your hat down to your shoes, or create a street smart combo by going for a stripe top and leather pants. Add a fedora hat and black shoulder bag to really glam it up.
5. How to wear The Red Bright Colored Blazer
This is probably the easiest way to wear a bright colored blazer – as an accent to an all white outfit. Not only is it easy to recreate, but it´s also work appropriate. You can wear it to the office without looking like you work at the hospital or a clinic.
Adding a red single-breasted blazer to an all white look gives that fresh and clean ensemble a good pop of bright!
6. The Yellow Bright Colored Blazer
If you´re a long-time reader of this blog, you would know that I`m a huge lover of polka dot. So as you can imagine, I couldn´t resist featuring this dotted yellow blazer here on the blog. It adds a smooth hint of bright color to a casual, t-shirt and jeans ensemble, making the whole look fun yet dressy.
Of course, those fabulous slips-ins with kitten heels in orange just brought this pop of bright colors to a whole new level.
7. The Teal bright Colored Blazer
A double-breasted teal blazer may seem challenging to style. You´re probably wondering how many ways can you possibly wear it. I would say there are MANY ways.
However, wearing it with anything plaid, preferably in blue or navy, should top the list. This bright, double-breasted teal blazer just looks so perfect with those plaid trousers and ankle boots.
8. How to wear bright blazers: The Peach Pink
This should be the perfect way to jazz up any cozy outfits for running errands – by adding a pop of bright colored blazer. Casual white t-shirts, brown roomy trousers and white sneakers would take you through a whole day of running errands, so why not add a touch of fun to the look through a color pop?
9. The Pink Silk Bright Colored Blazer
If an all-white outfit should be accented with a bright colored blazer, the same should apply to an all-black outfit. Any bright colored blazer will work well with an all-black ensemble, except orange. Why? Because orange and black reminds people of the Halloween.
Look how smart this look above. It goes without saying that you can wear black to an evening party without it being a dress or it looking like a memorial outfit.
10. How to Wear Bright Colored Blazers: The stunning yellow
Got a yellow blazer? Go through your wardrone and see if you have an equally bright skirt or pair of pants. Then grab a color wheel and see if these two colors – your jacket and skirt/trousers – will complement or contrast each other. Colorblocking was a trend a long time ago but who know, maybe it´s coming back?
11. The Light Red Bright Colored Blazer
I really, really love this outfit I want to emulate this. As you can see, it´s like creating a tonal look. You choose a color that´s similar to the color of your jacket. So in this example, a light red bright colored blazer is worn with a pair of red checked cropped pants. You can also wear the blazer with a peach knee-length skirt. You get the picture.
12. The Blue Bright Colored Blazer
For another work-appropriate outfit, throw a bright blue blazer to a black and white ensemble. This is really a great way to break the boredom of seeing black and white at work all the time. You can finish the look with some white or black pumps.
13. The Ocean Blue Bright Colored Blazer
This is yet another colorblock! Really, I´ve been seeing many colorblocking looks lately.
So the idea of this outfit is pairing an ocean blue peplum blazer with pink lining and eding, with some flared orange pants, then add a bright yellow clutch. Really, you can´t colorblock some solids better than this. Or can you?
14. The Pink Bright Colored Blazer
Pink will always look great with black. If you have a pink blazer and are wondering how to wear to work, simply layer it over a pink printed blouse, tucked in a pair of high-waisted trousers. Depending on whether or not your trousers are cropped, a pair of black ankle boots will look make the look kindá edgy.
15. The Orange Bright Colored Blazer
Did I say earlier that you should wear an orange bright colored blazer with black or else you´ll look like wearing a Halloween outfit?
Well, it seems that you can actually get away with it as long as you break the striking tandem of orange and black by adding a bright colored top. It can be a dark pink or a red. And color adjacent to the orange in the color wheel will do a great job of separating the orange from the black.
16. How to Wear Bright Colored Blazers: The Power Green
Personally, I find green a little challenging to wear. But it´s probably because green is simply not my color. Yet, if you´re into wearing a green bright colored blazer, either wear it as a set or match it with some printed neutral such as the leopard print. Wearing your green blazer with a leopard print knee-length pencil skirt will certainly turn heads.
17. How to Wear Bright Colored Blazers: The Striking Red
Not tired of those skinny jeans yet? Dress them up this spring with a bright laced top, a bright red blazer, and some bright red stilletos. The resul is casual smart; the kind of smart that´s hard not to notice.
So, whenever you find yourself asking how to wear bright colored blazers, always remember, you can always dress it up or down, tone down the color or maximize it. Now, are you a fan of bright blazers to pop up in a look? How would you like to wear it?
