Last week I inspired you to shake your work outfits by adding colors. I promised you that this is going to be a series of posts, and I´m keeping it. So if your Monday worklook packs a punch of color, how do you keep up the energy for Tuesday? Have you ever considered going a little splashy sparkly to the office? I bet you´re wary of the idea because you think shiny pieces are only for the evenings. Well, this is going to prove you wrong.
Make sequined or metallic pieces boardroom-ready by pairing them with subdued shades or layering them under solid fabrics to tone down the bling factor.

Gold Embroidery on Matte Gray or Black Works for Day
While solid gold is typically sequestered for the evening, you can work out embroided gold on matte gray or black background for day. Temper your skirt with a white silk shirt featuring chest pockets to subtly bring the eye upwards. Sexy black pumps are best to complete the look.
Cover a Not Super Shiny Top with Jacket
Look for sparkly tops that aren´t super shiny such as leather sequins to wear under a navy blue or black jacket. Tone the bling with a textured bottom or with a tonal coverup. The peek of spark smoothly brings interest to your otherwise blah, neutral outfit.
These Cardigans Only Give a Hint of Spark
Super shiny cardigans or jackets are definitely a no-no for work. But that doesn´t mean you can´t sneak some sparkly statement to the office. Look for cardigans with sequins only on the front, sequin detailing at the edges or on the collars. Stick with neutral colors if you want to keep it safe, or experiment with color blocking if you want to deliver a real statement.
Pack Some Sparkly Accessory
If all else fails, be comforted with the idea that by simply grabbing a metallic tote bag or slipping your feet in a pair of subtle metallic shoes, you are already revolutionaizing your office wear.
Now over to you, girls, how do you wear a splash of sparkle to work?
