I know that many fashion stylists say that running shoes should be worn only and only if you´re hitting the gym! However, no rules in fashion is written on stone and non-breakable. Only yesterday I was told not to wear print with print but today, look how crazy everyone with clashing bold prints. Oh, and did I tell you that not a long time ago trainers were my favorite footwear even if I wasn´t going to exercise?
I chose to speak about this topic today because I recently received a pair of white/neon green Nike trainers and they´re so beautiful I have double thoughts if I would ever wear them to the gym. So I thought why not gorgeously wear these running shoes for a street outfit? I looked for street fashion inspirations and here are three looks I love.
Little Black Dress with Running Shoes
Styling up a pair of running shoes edgy and casually chic is actually possible. You need a casual little black dress or a tunic shirt, a black leather jacket, a black leather shoulder bag, and your worn out trainers. Gather the waist of you dress with a slim belt for some shape under the jacket. Keep things dark but cute.
Trench coat with Running Shoes
Probably something not for the faint of heart, this look is about throwing over a little black dress or tunic a brown single-breasted top coat or a trench coat finished with dark-colored running shoes. Add a bag that keeps the vibe.

Animal Prints with Running Shoes
Cardigan, Shorts, Scarf, Trainers, Bag
This time, try layering of animal prints with other earthy hues and teaming with black shorts. Avoid prints that clash, instead, opt for wild prints in similar shade. The plain black shorts will temper the striking prints. Opt for black trainers to keep your laid-back look still polished.
So what do you think of these styling ideas, girls? Do you wear running shoes for street outfits or only for the gym?

Hi Glee,
I tried the little black dress with my trainers. Actually, it’s more of a black tank top, black leather skirt, and a black belt. Then, I threw a navy blue over coat with my Nikes. My co-workers found it cute and hip. I actually love it because those rubber shoes are just way comfortable!!!
Thank you for featuring this!

Hi Dani,
I´m glad it worked great on you, I can imagine how cute is the look. I personally would wear it too, I´m a fan of trainers worn with a dress, mini skirt, or denim shorts.
