While living in Bangkok, Thailand, I worked in an Indian international school for four years where I taught Maths to a majority of Indian students and rubbed shoulders daily with a majority of Indian colleagues. Apart from loving Indian delicacies that were served for lunch at the canteen, I also admired the fabulous ladies suits that my female Indian co-teachers and lady boss wore.
From extremely ethnic pieces to traditional Indian suit sets, sometimes with a hint of modern, I found that any body type can rock an Indian style ladies suit. It doesn´t matter if you´re slim or curvy, as long as you´ve put your head into wearing one of the most exotic fashion styles on earth, and if you have the confidence, you will certainly enjoy wearing it.
In fact, parents-teachers meeting at the Indian school I worked for meant a parade of many Indian ladies suits by the parents, and guess what? Even if many mothers got love handles, which most of us would probably be shy of showing, they´re rocking the cropped, three pieces like a pro.
I never got to own an Indian style ladies suit, but I do have a few pieces of Indian separates and dresses, courtesy of my close female Indian colleagues.
(This is me rocking an Indian A-line mini dress, which can also be worn as a tunic, and an Indian printed maxi skirt.)
If you´re considering investing on one or two Indian Style ladies suits – for work, business meetings, formal events or cultural-themed parties – I found several gorgeous options at Salwar Kameez online shop.

1. The A-line
Women A-Line Churidar Suit
An A-line suit is one of the most popular silhouettes for Indian women. It often comes with fitted trousers featuring dropped hems. If you´re in the tropics or if you´re wearing it on a warm summer day, you will even love it more because it´s made of cotton which makes it comfortable to the skin. If you would rather wear the suit as a dress, however, you can bare your legs and slip into sexy strappy high heels.

2. The diva dupatta
Womens Printed Salwar, Kurta and Dupatta Set
My lady boss at the Indian school was one of a diva; she came from a rich traditional Indian family and was married to a city Indian man who grew up in Thailand. She loved dupatta sets because of their elegance which speaks “less is more”. But although subtle, with a single glance you´ll know immediately that the suit is investment. It´s about the cloth, soft colors, and beautiful print designs.

3. The kurta dupatta
Womens Churidar Kurta Dupatta Set
Although similar to the traditional diva dupatta, the kurta dupatta has an air of modern glamour. It´s show-stopping, pleasing to look at, and it definitely demands respect.
4. The printed salwar suit
Womens Printed Salwar Suit
Most of my Indian female co-teachers preferred the salwar suit, which is always nicely printed, probably because of its comfort. Its roomy style from head to toe allows you free movement, its floral print injects femininity, while its quarter sleeves boost elegance that is appropriate for work or business-related events.

5. The three-piece
Womens Choli, Lehenga and Dupatta Set
To Indian women, the three-piece skirt is a key essential to their wardrobe. This is what they´d rock if they´re to embrace their sensuality and style. The crop top bares off the belly area while the shawl can be worn as a scarf or as a cover-up to the bared mid-section. Either way, a three-piece cropped top, skirt and shawl definitely makes for an attractive outfit.
So these are the five most popular Indian style ladies suit that you can choose from. Let me know, girls, are you mesmerized with the Indian fashion as much as I am?
