We love polished, very put-together outfits whether it´s for work, evening parties or running errands. But being polished doesn´t mean always in dark, heavy or too-serious ensembles. Learning how to add a pop of bright color or a hint of bold is what separates elegant women who seem to be always ready for burial events from the ones who look smart but exudes freshness and youthful glamor.
Here are three ways to add a pop of attitude to polished outfits.
1. Bright + Dark Contrast Edging
Jacket, Shorts, Cuff, Clutch, Sandal
I love shorts suit, I think it´s a great alternative to pants suit. When it comes to choosing one, I have a thing for jackets with contrast edging. You can see my own version of this look in my outfit post, The Short Suit for Women.
But if you want a more dramatic pop of boldness, go for a suit with bright color edgings such as this tweed jacket from Trina Turk. In order to keep things polished, layer a blouse or top that matches the color of your jacket´s edgings. And then complete the look with bright sandals that also matches, or complements, your color theme.
2. White + Red Combination
It´s practical to invest on a pair of bright straight pants that are versatile enough to dress smartly to the office or gorgeously for other special affairs.
Although you can team red with black, this color shines out nicely with white. Try it with a sleeveless white top for date, or with long-sleeve blouses for work. Let the pants take center-stage by completing it with nude sandals.
3. Bright Colorblock Bag
Here´s a cute outfit for casual days. Play up this scarlet pleated skirt with a white top for playful casual get-togethers or even for running errands, complete with a pair of fabulous mules. Level up the brightness of your look by adding a matching bold satchel.
To dress it down, add a simple gray tee, worn tucked in, some fun flat sandals.
Now tell me darlings, how do you add a pop of bold to our polished ensembles?
