When I saw this romper from Elie Saab´s runway show, I fell in love with its clean look and perfectly polished head to toe matching. In fact, there´s only one color in this entire look—from the romper down to the model´s shoulder bag and shoes—and that´s the turquoise. I got excited when I saw this outfit because turquoise is one of my favorite colors, just within the family of blue.
I decided to mimic the look, but I had a hard time digging for a perfect turquoise romper that´s currently available in the market and just within the price range that I´m comfortable with. So I improvised.
When it comes to rompers, I have my eyes on long sleeved or quarter sleeved rompers because given that they´re already showing lots of legs, it´s only appropriate to cover the shoulders in order to not overwhelm the look with too much skin. That´s a simple rule of balance.
Sleeve Keyhole Back Silk Romper
Romper, Satchel, Lipstick, Pumps
This silk romper in emerald green is very sophisticated. I found a pair of emerald pumps which are perfect to go with the one piece, and although I could add a green satchel as well, I went for a nude bag instead which lightened up the look.
If you can find a turquoise or mint green slim belt to accent the waist, it´s great! I tried, but didn´t find the perfect belt. Wear a natural makeup and a light pink lip to balance the seriousness of the color.
Sleeve Polka Dot and Flower Printed Crop Romper
Romper, Handbag, Parfum, Lipstick, Pump
Yet another print which definitely earned a tick in my list is this polka dot with floral mixed print romper. In order to work with the matching, I chose a pair of light blue pumps which is the color of the petals from the print, and a light green bag which is the color of the leaves. Adding a striking red lip to the look, the result must be refreshing!
Lace Peep Back Romper
Romper, Bag, Lipstick, Pumps
It´s an all-black matching, yep, and featuring lace accent both in the romper and the shoes. I could also pick a black clutch for the look, but I decided for a light pink tiny handbag instead. Again, just to add some interest to the black-heavy ensemble.
I normally would advise you against ankle straps, but since you´re going really leggy in a romper, I´ll let this gorgeous ankle lace strap heel pass for this outfit.
Flying Tomato Print Romper
Romper, Handbag, Lipstick, Heel
Have you seen the Legend of the Flying Tomato? I´m yet to see that film but hey, here´s a really cute romper in a really striking flying tomato print.
The print is dominated with turquoise shade, accented with lace detailing, and styled in a sophisticated cut which make this romper a perfect candidate for day or evening special events. You can complete the look with white or blush strap sandals, and a colored handbag which you should pick from the print.
Now over to you, girls. Which of the above rompers would you wear this spring and summer?
