Have you heard of Hobbs? It´s a sophisticated British brand which designs are aimed for modern women. Hobbs is known for combining contemporary prints and clean-cut feminine silhouettes, and for providing versatile dresses and separates which look great both with high heels or flats. Most of the pieces are work-appropriate, but they can also be dressed down with smoking slippers or casual sandals after dusk.
I spent about half an hour today scanning through Hobbs` spring/summer collection and I ended up choosing four bright or feminine dresses. The looks featured here are for date or work, but I will also offer quick alternatives on how to dress them down.
Table of Contents
1. Blue Print Tea Dress
Hobbs Wessex Dress
Pretty and sweet, a tea dress that gives a hint of your classy sense of retro. But to wear it to work, you want this dress to look modern, not vintage. You can easily achieve it by adding modern accessories such as a structured handbag and sophisticated pointed toe pumps. You may like to keep the colors in blue and white for a clean result. This dress comes without a belt, but adding a white slim belt will give an interesting detail to it.
To create a casual look, wear this dress with a white flat sandal and a cross body-bag.
2. Textured Liliana Dress
Hobbs Liliana Dress
Feminine and modest make this dress of-the-moment. Remember that glamorous midi length is so in this season. This pastel pink frock boosts a fit and flare style, sleeveless and flattering neckline. It also has a delicate floral cutwork, a one-of-a-kind textured finesse. You can wear it with white heels or bright colored pumps.
3. Cornel Fit-and-Flare Dress
Hobbs Cornel Dress
If you´re looking for a very summer bright fit-and-flare dress minus the ultra-voluminous skirt, then you will surely adore this one. Its knee-length skirt offers a subtle flare around the hem. I added a brown slim belt to define the waist, a pair of bright orange sling back heels to color block, and a monogram satchel to add a contrast print to the look.
To wear this dress after dusk, strut it without the belt and add a pair of white or brown lace-up oxford shoes.
4. Playful Butterfly Dress
Hobbs Butterfly Dress
This butterfly dress has ultra-feminine finish but a style that can easily look dated if you´re not careful. To make it look modern, add a modern leopard print pump and a black satchel. To make it look classic, add some metallic pumps. To make it look casual, add a pair of strap high heels.
Now over to you, girls, what do you think of these color + femininity packed summer dresses?
