It´s barely winter here on my side of the world but I`m excited to talk about spring. Today let´s take a look at some of the fashion trends that will make spring 2021 interesting and super exciting.
Most of these pieces are in dark hues so they will function as season transitional pieces as well, from winter to spring, that is! The main statements for next year´s spring are sleeves, glitters and toned wildness.
So let´s jump right in.
1. Drape Printed Shirt Dresses
First in the list are the draped dresses. I know that I featured long draped shirt dresses here but really, any draped dresses will do, including mini dresses. What´s really lovely about draped dresses is you can just let them be flowy and roomy if you´re into comfort, but you can also easily add a belt to cinch the waist if you´d like to alter its silhouette.
As a nod to spring, expect next year´s spring dresses to have soft floral print. They´re feminine but not bursting with florals.
2. Tops and Blouses with Dramatic Sleeves
Then of course we have the dramatic sleeves. This trend isn´t new. In fact, this has been lingering for quite a few seasons now. But guess what? The wilder the better, it seems. Or should we say, the more dramatic the better?
If you´re into high-waisted trousers paired with cropped tops, then seriously consider the glamor of a crop blouse with structured puff sleeves. It´s totally striking.
However, if structured sleeves aren´t your thing, you can still play with dramatic sleeves by opting for a blouse with lace trims, for example.
3. Puff Sleeves on Jumpers/Sweaters
I am forever in love with puff sleeves especially on sweaters (or jumpers as English people call it). I have collected several sweaters with puff sleeves in the last three years but my latest addition is a mohair sweater with puff sleeves from shoulder to elbow and then it goes fitting down the arm. It´s very classy.
You will notice that these two sweaters with puff sleeves have deep necklines. That´s why they´re for spring, the bare chest would be too cold in winter. However, on a cold spring day simply tie a scarf on your neck for coverage.
4. Sequined & Embellished
Sequins and embellishments are coming back huge for spring 2021. From mini dresses to jackets, trousers, skirts, and jackets, you can easily wear some glitters. I have bought a sequined mini dress with three-quarter sleeves but have never worn it. At least now I know that come next spring I can look trendy in it.

5. Metallic
If sequins and embellishments are too bold for you, you can opt for metallic instead. It makes you look fierce, even edgy, without having to scream, „Look at me!“
A sequined midi dress or a sequined midi skirt will look fabulous and elegant on you specially when styled with less.
6. A Pop of Dots
Dots never go out of trend, do they? Your age doesn´t matter, you can always wear polka dots if you like to. But for next year´s spring, focus on dotted tops. There are more than a dozen styles of dotted tops on the market but for this coming spring, the dotted pop over shirt is what´s trending.
7. Wild Print
And then we have the wild animal print! If you haven´t yet, make sure to check out my ultimate guide on how to wear animal print.
This coming season though, forget the eye-catching leopard print. This season is all about covert wil prints. What does that mean?
It´s means you´re gonna wear an animal print but people will have to take a double take and be like: Wait, is that an animal print?
It may be rossettes of a leopard print but it can also be cut barks of a tree.
Maybe they´re zebra stripes but they can also be just some asymmetrical patterns.
It can be snake print or whatever animal print but they´re not loud. They´re covert.
And that´s the way to wear animal print come next season, spring 2021. For someone who lives wearing animal print, I like this new take on the print. It´s going to be a fabulous, fresh take for a change.
I escially love that colored snale print dress, last photo. How about you?
