Although I blogged about hippie-chic tall fringe boots, boho and hippie styles aren´t really my thing. In fact, after I hit that post´s publish, I was kind of guilty wondering if I offended many of my readers who are into elegant style but nothing Coachella-chic.
But I wanted to give this topic a benefit of the doubt. I wanted to know if girls like you and me could wear fringe without sacrificing the journey we painfully took to polish our style and not looking like we hitched a time machine ride taking the route back to our teenage (much younger) days. Indeed, you can wear fringe and still look very put-together. Here are five ideas:
Fringe Party Dress
We´ve seen it from the catwalk, and we´ve seen it on some established fashion bloggers. A fringe dress can make a grand, elegant statement just as much as any other sleek dresses would. Look for something sequined, or a bright frock with splendid fringe overlay.
Respectable Fringe Skirt
There are presentable fringe skirts that don´t show off too much skin. We prefer midi length fringe skirts to wear with killer high heel shoes or sexy over-the-knee boots. Boho-chic clothing is always loose. Go against that, opt for something fitted. You´re not wearing this look to a hike, that´s the rule.
Fringe Kimono
Even if we try to deny it, each of us has our own inhibitions. Do fringes make you uneasy? Try wearing a fringe kimono on your next summer holiday trip – at the beach or at a relaxing bar. Notice how freeing it makes you feel.
Fringe Accessory
Spice up your weekend daywear with fringes. Add a fringe scarf to a simple white tee and boyfriend jeans for an interesting but comfortable outfit for running errands. If fringe jackets aren´t in your dictionary because they´re over the top, try a fringe bag to inject adventure to a shift dress.
Fringe Swimsuit
I know that around this time of the year many of you are already prepping for your next summer vacay. That´s why I covered the swimwear trends for summer 2014 early. Fringe swimsuits are not necessarily a trend this year, but when you´re dipping in that clear blue water, being trendy is certainly the last thing in your mind. All you want is adventure, and rocking a fringe swimwear is by itself being adventurous!

The bottom line, your style doesn´t have to be hippie or boho-chic in order to wear fringe. You can do fringes as a fun spice to your polished wardrobe without sacrificing your sense of style. And of course, without doing it overboard.
Now over to you, which fringe items are you comfortable rocking this season?
