Although it´s a wild dream of mine to someday own a horse, right now that dream is still far beyond reach. But that couldn´t stop me from styling an equestrian chic look.
I pulled the dark navy blue trousers I used to wear to work when I was still teaching, which has since slept in my closet when I retired three years ago, and wore them with black riding boots.
These high waist trousers are a bit flared so tucking them in the boots creates a bulky weird look around my legs. What I did was fold their cuffs up before tucking them in. That trick worked.
Remember how mustard yellow was a trend color two falls back? I love this color because it matches the gorgeous shades of leaves, plus it really stood out with navy blue.
This is the third time for me to wear this mustard turtle neck on this blog. Two years back I did a layering with it for gorgeous but casual outdoor look for spring. I also styled it with a fur vest and a snake print skirt for fall.
In order to add interest to the solid jumper, I throw over my shoulder a Thai silk scarf which happened to be a perfect complement.
But I could still use more color, so I grabbed a tangerine handbag. I love the result.
Somebody has said that fall is created all in the name of beauty. I agree. It´s in fall when the world is the most colorful.
It makes you remember that no matter how challenging life can be at times, or how mean the world can be to you on some occasions, life is still beautiful. God gave us the beauty of nature to help us see the good side of everything, and to be more thankful for every blessing that comes our way.
In case life is giving you a tough time right now, pause, go out to nature, connect with your creator, and peace will flow to your soul.
And as you do so, don´t forget to wear bright colors, they will boost your mood.
Have a blessed week!
