When it comes to hair, I´m not very creative. I wear my hair either loose and straight or in a bun. But I decided to change that, I learned to curl my hair with a curling iron. I got some burns and earned a second degree scar on my left arm due to some wrong attempts, but they paid off (the hard way). I´m now close to perfecting the skill. The best part of this achievement is, I now have more confidence to experiment with my hair. This summer, I´d like to try these five easy summer hairstyles. They´re perfect for a serious laissez faire, summer holiday moment.

The boho braid
This summer hairstyle is for girls who love the side plait. Create a side parting and gather your hair into a low pony on the opposite side to your parting. Split your hair into three sections and neatly plait them until you reach the ends.
Secure with a snag-free elastic, then use your finger to pull some sections of hair out of the braid carefully for a relaxed finish. Spray a little hairspray on your fingers before you do this to help keep the style in place. If your ends are fried after too much sunshine, sea and sand, apply a tiny oil for instant nourishment.
The time friendly knot
Here´s a really easy to create look which is perfect after a day at the beach when your hair is salty and full of body – a knot taken higher on to the top of the head as introduced by Northwood. If you´re stuck in Blighty, cheat the texture with a volumising shampoo, conditioner and texturizer.
Tip you hair upside down to tie your hair into a high ponytail. Next, using a toothcomb, gently backcomb the tail before wrapping it around the base. Use your fingers to move and mould the hair into a bunshape, then pin into place and fix with a hairspray. If bits fall out, all the better. This hairstyle is meant to look more dishevelled than smooth.
The whimsical waves
Fo smoot, tousled hair, the key is summery texture which can be easily created with products. Apply a texturizer or thickening spray body, then rough-dry your hair with your fingers for natural movement. Take small sections of hair, wrap them around a curling wand, hold for a few seconds, then allow to cool.
Next use a bristle brush to gently break up and soften the curls. Finish with a small amount of styling cream on the mid-lengths and ends. Feel free to part your hair on the side if centre partings don´t suit you.
How to Get Volumized, Bouncy Hair
The loose tail
This hairstyle is a summer staple, give a classic pony a modern edge with low-slung, relaxed tail. If your hair is freshly washed, you need to apply some hair powder to the roots to create some guts and body. taking the top section of the hair at the crown, gently backcomb it for added rootlift. Lightly smoothen this with a bristle brush, then gather all of your hair and secure it low at the nape of the neck.
Instead of a traditional elastic, use your favorite accessory. Take a bracelet or a necklace and wrap it around the base of the ponytail, totally concealing the elastic, and secure with one or two kirby grips.

The killer knot
This looks great wet or dry so you can rely on it for the beach or a night out. Begin by spraying on a color-protector or leave-in conditioner. This will treat the hair while achieving the desired grip to keep this updo in place.
Create a low side-parting, then pull the hair into a low side-pony (again, the opposite side to the parting). Split tha hair in two and tie it into a knot, then repeat until you have a double knot. Random bits should fall out, which will give it an easy-going holiday feel.
