It´s been 40 years since Diane von Furstenberg introduced the iconic wrap dress in the 70s. To celebrate the fame of the wrap dress, she created wrap dresses in vivid colors and patterns for her pre-fall 2014 collection. In addition to eye-catching bright and patterned dresses, she also created a new style of wrap dress featuring her signature jersey wrap on top with a flaring cotton skirt. Another one-of-a-kind creation is the long-sleeved maxi dresses featuring curves of blended geometric patterns.
One reason behind the phenomenal success of the wrap dress is its versatility; it flatters many types of figures and shapes. This style takes a cue from Japanese´s kimono, a crisscross on the front of the body and ties at the waist.
Wrap dresses flatters the following type of figures the most – curvy, short, boyish and full bust.
1. Neutral Patterned Wrap Dresses
These three wrap dresses work best for three different functions. Diane von Furstenberg Amelia Two Wrap Dress, which is updated with a silk-jersey bodice and crisp twill skirt, is perfect for preppy events.
The Chain Link monochrome wrap dress is powerful for the office or for meeting up with clients. It has a crisp collar that accents its dominant crossover V neck and it looks most professional if worn with pumps. Marchesa Voyage Dress in natural leopard is a more casual and flirty take on the wrap dress. It´s fabulously adorable with flat thong sandals in black.

2. Bright Wrap Dresses
Whether it´s for work or for special affairs, a bright wrap dress can easily carry you with style. All three are Diane von Furstenberg´s signature wrap dress with easy drape. They´re available in different colors – Zephyr Green, red chili, Lotus, as well as yellow pattern. The Indian Borders Yellow two wrap dress stood out thanks to its colorful, bohemian pattern.

Your choice of shoes to wear with the dress is equally as important. To throw some surprises, look for dresses with mixed prints or watercolor-inspired prints.
