The cold shoulder trend is here to stay. How many ways it´s going to be re-interpreted for the next springs and summers remains to be seen, but what we´re seeing right now is how the cold-shoulder + off-shoulder trends of last year are now revived in a more wavy, girly manner, thanks to ruffles and fly-away drapes.
This season, it´s all about baring the shoulders.
If you need a flashback of how it´s done last year, check out these posts:
My baby is having a long nap … Yehey! So mommy is able to hunt for these looks comparing designer pieces with more affordable lookalikes. Of course we know that quality often goes with price, but that isn´t always the case. We also know that we´re pretty much paying for the brand. So whether you´re into the meticulously made designer pieces or the more pocket-friendly trendy picks, these comparisons should help you.
Here´s how to update your spring/summer wardrobe with ruffles and romance.
Strapless Ruffle Top
Would you rather glow in nude with this two-layered ruffles, strapless top or would you instead look hot in a flounce bodice, cropped fit, strapless top? Both pieces look great with high-waist skinny jeans and flip-flops.
One Shoulder Top
Apparently, there are two ways to do the one-shoulder. Try Trina Turk`s one shoulder striped shirting or Lulu´s one-shoulder bodice with an off-the-shoulder, ruffled sleeve.
Here´s a side by side comparisons of a chambray off-shoulder top with elastic hem and cuffy, and a black off-shoulder top with elastic and ruffled cuffs, and a more relaxed bodice.
Which dress is hotter? Personally, I would go for Parker´s more relaxed off-shoulder do. But hey! If you´ve got the guts + if you prefer to save, totally go for the sexy black dress.
I`m inlove with Milly`s crisp chambray tank, I just love its sexy, smooth drapes in front and especially the back, but Lulu`s boho version does well too. This comparison got me really thinking.
So what do you think of the ruffle romance for this season? Are you into the off-shoulder trend?
