Our featured Creative Fashionista for today is a model in the making who currently represents DemuLabel for Press the Fashion Winter Issue. She has a thing on oversized sweaters and menswear on women and yet able to geniusly pull off any girly look in skirt or dress. Get inspired and learn some fashion tips from Julie of Pop Champagne.
Hello Julie! Tell us a little about you and your blog.
I have a style blog called “Pop Champagne” at www.popchampagneblog.com. I love beef burritos and I’m really good at foosball.
What inspired you to start a fashion blog?
I love to wear what I want and I hope that this will encourage others to wear what they like. I don’t believe in mimicking trends and what you see in fashion transformation TV shows. Fashion resource outlet like those just end up dressing everyone the same and that’s not fun nor expressive.
Do you have any plans for the growth of your blog?
I don’t like to set goals for my blog. I just blog about what I like and it’s exciting to see where it takes you.
What´s your signature style?
My style varies depending on my daily mood, but you will most likely catch me in an over sized sweater or jeans and a well-tailored blazer on my lazy days. I think men wear on women is sexy.
What is your best-kept personal style secret?
Eat healthy and exercise. At the end of the day clothes are just instruments you put on.
What are the five fashion essentials every well-dressed woman must have?
It varies between people. For me it would be a well-tailored blazer, a white blouse, cool heels, accessories and confidence… or pepper spray. Again, it varies between people.
Do you have a celebrity style idol? Who and why?
I love Jane Aldridge from Sea Of Shoes, she’s practically a celebrity style idol in the world of fashion blogs. If you visit her blog you will know instantly know why.
Which three shops do you love (the most) to shop?
I shop at thrifted places but also love going into Zara, Holt Renfrew and Urban Outfitters. I like mixing new with old and high with low.
Enough talk! Show us some of the most creative outfits you´ve worn.
I don’t really have the most creative outfit, unless you’re talking about the time I mistakenly wore a tank top as a mini skirt in gr.8… And I don’t have a favorite outfit- you wouldn’t ask a parent to pick their favorite child unless you were The Man In The Iron Mask’s mother, would you? But here are some of my recent outfits!
Men inspired clothing can be the hottest thing on a lady
Outfit – Abercrombie & fitch shirt, Unionbay pants, DIY studded wedges
Since I’m not a winter sport person, wearing faux fur is one of the few things I look forward to in winter!
Outfit – TNA jacket, Gucci sunglasses, Club Monaco knitted skirt
And finally, if you could whisper a fail-safe style tip to every woman´s ears, what would it be?
Wear a really cool pair of shoes and that will fix a lot of things.
Have a great week, Julie! Thank you so much for your helpful tips.
