If style isn´t in the genes, I don´t know what is. Our today´s featured Creative Fashionista shares the same interest and skill with her mom, Ariane – fashion and remixing. An independent fashion designer and blogger from Montreal, she has a great love for vintage fashion and vibrant colors and she lives to share it to the world. Learn some fashion tricks and get inspired to build your own Etsy shop from Izzy of Yeye Style Blog.
Hello Yeye! Tell us a little about you and your blog.
Hi there Glee, thank you for asking me to do this interview. I hope your readers will like what I have to say. Well my blog is mostly about my personal style, my love for vintage clothing and a place to showcase what I can do. I love to share about my latest creations and share what I am selling in my Etsy shop.
What inspired you to start a fashion blog and a fashion Etsy shop?
Well I was not inspired to start a fashion blog, like I said before this is a personal style blog of what I wear every week. I started off on livejournal over 9 years ago, then started posting my daily outfit pictures on a Flickr group called wardrobe remix founded by Tricia Royal. Then blogging came. I guess I was just evolving with the internet.
My Etsy shop was the answer to an Ebay shop that felt cold and not friendly. Etsy is like having a little shop of your own and interacting more with your buyers. I use to own my own vintage shop in Phoenix, AZ, many years ago and my love for vintage buying and selling came from there. I have never stopped ever since.
Tell us more about your Etsy shop. Do you do it full-time? Where do you get your products?
My Etsy shop is called Yeye Vintage Boutique. It´s full of handpicked vintage clothing and accessories from around Montreal. I do it full-time alongside my sewing job. I basically work 7 days a week, if you count all the hours I put for my blog.
What´s your signature style?
I guess colorful pieces and pattern mixes. I have always been attracted to bright colors, even as a kid. I guess I stuck with it after all these years.
What are the five fashion essentials every well-dressed woman must have?
-A pair of vintage Levis 517’s
-Black opaque tights
-Vintage Ferragamoe’s
-A black pair of black high heels
-Red lipstick
Which three shops do you love (the most) to shop?
Hmm, this is a hard one. I really love Ebay for interesting shoes from Japan, Forever 21 and Annex Vintage in Montreal. But I mostly buy thrifted pieces online. I also buy a lot on etsy. I usually buy hard to find pieces that are one of a kind.
Your mom is a fashionista herself. Do you at times get to steal some pieces from her wardrobe? Or do you guys swap some fashion items?
Yes we do! Actually, when I go over to her place she always has a few things for me. We´re pretty much the same size so swapping is fun.
What advice would you give to those planning to put up their own etsy shop?
Work hard, be honest, take nice clear photos, get a steamer, and update everyday!
Enough talk! Show us some of the most creative outfits you´ve worn.

For this look I was inspired by the color pink and orange, this has to be my favorite color combo, you can never go wrong with pink and orange.
And finally, if you could whisper a fail-safe style tip to every woman´s ears, what would it be?
Be yourself. You are what you wear.
Thank you so much, Izzy! Have a great weekend. 🙂

I adore everything she wears, especially that satchel in Outfit #3 and that gorgeous Missoni skirt (which was beautiful before I read it was Missoni!) Great interview; I’m glad to have found her:)
She is definitely someone who works well with colours and vintage garments! The last photo of her in the lavender purple suede skirt is gorgeous!
