Bright solid color dresses are something that is lacking in my wardrobe. I do have little black dresses that I love. There´s also a navy blue halter dress in solid color that is cute but which I´ve worn only twice.
Yet bright solid color dresses? I don´t have any. This realization only dawned on me very recently when I did a quick inventory of my closet. I have way, way more prints than solids – whether it´s dresses, tops and blouses, or skirts.

It´s clear how much I adore bright prints. But if all I have are printed, there´s an imbalance in my wardrobe. Doing an inventory helped me identify which pieces to invest next to make my wardrobe more balanced.
So I started thinking, why am I not drawn to solid color dresses even the bright ones?
The answer is pretty clear – I find them a little less creative. But is it really the truth?
In this post I try to answer that question. Can a solid colored dress still be stunning and creative? Indeed, it can!
In fact, what I discovered about solid color pieces is that they can easily look more elegant than the printed ones. It´s probably because „less is more“
To combat my false belief that bright solid color pieces are less creative than the printed ones, I focus on the fit, the fabric, and the details of the dress. Let´s examine these solid pieces below.
Table of Contents
1. Look for interesting details and texture.

The light green color of this dress is eye-catching. If this color matches your skintone, hair and eye color, you will surely glow in this dress.
Everything about this dress creates a flattering finesse. It has short flutter sleeves. The asymmetric hem is a tease, revealing only a leg. And the D ring belt at waist is both stylish and practical. It helps create a waist while bringing the look together with polished elegance.
The dress also boosts a subtly textured finish, which adds interest to the its overall look.
There´s definitely nothing that´s boring about this dress. Instead, it´s captivating and stunning.
2. Choose the Right Shade of Pink.

This dress is all about its fabulous color. I love its shade of bright pink.
Personally, when it comes to pink I am very choosy. I find that some vibrant shades of pink are overused, or abused, so that they end up looking cheap.
But this shade of bright pink is something that I love. I have this particular pink as a sweater and a top.
If you have the legs, go strut your legs and twirl. Otherwise this frock will look great with black opaque tights and pointed-toe, low-vamp stilettos heels as well.
Next to color I also love its lace panelling which makes the dress look luxurious. Take not that aside from its lace panels and skater shape there´s not much detail in this dress, and yet it still look striking.

There´s stilla few sizes left. So if you love it, check it out if your size is still available.
5. The Power Red.

This is a powerful bodycon dress with elegant hem-length and sexy slit at the back. If red is your color (like mine), then this fitted dress in bright red will make for a gorgeous addition to your power dresses collection.
I no longer wear a body con dress as is since my middle twenties. I always layer it with a nice jacket.
6. Be Sultry and Fun.

This dress is both trendy and girly, but still well out together. It has a rich tone of blue which is lovely to the eyes.
