Last time we oozed about the runway to office work outfits for spring, but since we´ll be enjoying the sun fully soon (yes, I´m so looking forward to summer!), let´s talk work outfits for summer.
Summer work outfits for women are fun, think bright colors, floral prints, bold dresses and color accents.
Don´t be afraid to wear the trend to the office. As long as they maintain elegance and professionalism, there´s no reason to stick to those dull neutral-colored suits and skirts.
Here´s how to look fashionable at work for summer and how to wear the trend like a pro …

Wear Floral Pencil Skirt to Work
Floral print to work? Duh! Nope, I´m not talking flow-y floral summer dresses, I´m speaking floral print pencil skirt. Now, how many of your female colleagues have worn printed pencil skirt to work? I bet none, or very rarely, in case there happens to be some braves. This is the time to standout at the work place.
The trick is to pick one color somewhere on the print for the color of your shirt. Wear your top tucked in and add a nude or brown belt for a clear definition between the color and the print. Slip into nude pumps to allow the florals to shine out.
Colored Top as an Accent
Yesterday I featured tips on how to accent with color a soft neutral combo for summer casual outfits. The same principle applies to summer work outfits. Get a bright, attention-grabbing colored top to wear under a cozy neck long cardigan (I´m digging almond shade) and to pair with a nude Logan fit cuffed crop.
Add a cream or ivory slim belt to provide contrast with your pants but NOT stealing attention from your colored top. The idea is to dress up a one stand out color with neutrals.
Go Red to Work
Red is hot and powerful. It depicts warmth and stubbornness wrapped together with joy. If you wear this color to work, you´re guaranteed to intimidate. That´s if red hasn´t intimated you yet. So what to do? In order to not appear too-strong at work, tone it down with a white or ivory blazer and accessorize with black or dark brown.
Here, we´ve added a tribal-inspired bracelet in dark brown, a dark brown satchel, black t-strap heels and black (layered) chain necklace.
Gold Silk and Print Mix for Work
One look that I´m loving for summer work outfit is this silk and neutral print tandem. On days when you want to feel fashionable but not loud, when you rather be a supporter and not a leader, this look is what you need.
A gold silk (three-forth sleeves) worn tucked in a chocolate printed knee-length skirt is both gorgeous and laid-back. Elevate the mood by grabbing a colored satchel bag or a statement strappy heels.
So tell me girls, what are you digging for summer work outfits? Which of the looks above would you wear to the office this summer?
