I spent my afternoon watching the live stream of Ted Baker´s Spring/Summer 2014 fashion show and I couldn´t help but feel excited for spring already! I always think that this season encourages us the most to embrace femininity. Do you agree?
Think of blooming florals that are only a step away from shocking us with their grandeur, or the sweet light pink that tickles? How about the girly side of black? Here are four trends that were evident at Ted Baker´s SS14 runway.
Blooming Floral Print
If winter´s florals took the backseat and hushed their beauty with shy blooms amidst dark tonings, spring florals are the opposite. Large. Striking. Proud. Yet super girly as ever. Needless to say, spring is the season when flowers start to open, and then their smile widens as far as they could in summer, just as beautiful as your splendid floral dress.
If you noticed Ted Baker´s floral pieces, they´re largely toned with nude pink. This shade is probably the most delicate within the pink family. So don´t be surprised if you see an array of nude pink accessories from the collection, they´re there to complete the statements that florals are supposed to make.
Black is usually associated with fierce, bold and tough, even difficult at times. But this spring, it´s the season to redefine the forever flattering color. Opt for a little black dress with feminine details such as a contrast white bow, contrast white pleats or buttons, or go for a romper with built-in necklace accent.
I can hardly say that it´s a trend but Ted´s SS14 collection provides an option of outstanding solid colored dresses and separates from bright green, deep and bright pink, to jade and neon. I love their flowy maxi dresses, I covet the elegance of their bright midi dress, I hear the fierceness of their standout colored playsuit.
You´ve got to decide if you´re to go for a single piece that says it all, or opt for separates that either blend with the flow or complement. But as for me and my closet, we´re digging bright mono dresses.
How about you? What do you think of Ted Baker´s SS14 collection?
