Hi Luwicia! The colors you can work with royal blue for color blocking are the lighter and darker shades of blue, tangerine and pastel yellow, purple, lavender and violet.

To create a colorblock look with a royal blue blazer, you can opt for a blended complementary colors, monochromatic look or you can mix with pastels. For this post, I´m using a MCQ ALEXANDER MCQUEEN Blazer to create these outfit boards. Below are three colorblock looks to help you style your royal blue blazer.

Vibrant Complementary Colors

Go for vibrant colors to layer under your royal blue blazer – rich yellow top and tangerine pants. These bright colors will highlight your jacket. In order to balance the heavy shade of your outerwear against the bright background, wear a pair of purple pumps. They pumps are akin to royal blue from afar but they, actually, are just complementary to the jacket. Add a nude clutch to neutralize the colorblock

Even if this look consists of four colors, the yellow and tangerines colors are so close to each other, like borderlines, and your violate pumps aren´t huge, therefore you´re far from overwhelming.

Monochromatic Colorblock

You can do colorblock with monochromatic colors too. Create a mix of ligther and darker shades of blue. Here, I paired a light-blue button-down with blue pants finished with black stilettos. You can add an orange handbag to inject a vibrant color.

Blend with Pastels

Take two pastel pieces, preferably pastel blue and pastel pink/violate for your shirt and pants to team with your royal blue jacket. This color combo subtly speak of girliness while the royal blue blazer pulls everything together and toucghens the girly side of the outfit.
