One important basic staple I have in my closet is a sleeveless black top. It can work with almost any layering and it can also be a standout piece on its own on warm days. When I do shopping, before I buy a product I first think of how many outfits I can create with it from the pieces that I already have in my closet. I found this LOUELLA swing top from Coast and I like its classic attitude with some hints of modern—a layered hem and modern neck detailing—so I challenged myself with three ways I could wear it.
Here are the three looks I came up with this gorgeous sleeveless top in black.
1. With a Vintage Inspired Print Skirt
I´d like to go leggy by teaming my sleeveless top with a vintage-inspired-print, above-the-knee skirt. I really, really like the smooth blend of black and faded mint in its print, and I´m also a big fan of A-line, a cut that is very functional. As you can see, this look is sophistication. The mint adds a nice dose of freshness to the overall result.
2. With Glamorous Midi Skirt
Remember the 7 ways to wear a glamorous midi full skirt? This is the eighth way, partnering a coral midi full skirt with a black sleeveless top. These two shades make for a perfect color contrast, so why not? But what makes this look really interesting is that I made the shoes the main statement maker, it´s a pair of floral print pumps which colors match both that of the skirt and the top. How fabulous!
3. With White Trousers
This one is the tried and true monochromatic ensemble, but if you haven´t noticed it yet, I do have a thing for shoes that grab attention. In this outfit, I broke the simplicity of black and white just a little by adding this pair of polka dot pointed toe pumps. Your mono look doesn´t have to be entirely low-key, it can also be just as interesting!
So what do you think of these three looks, ladies? What other ways would you wear a sleeveless black top?
