In my career as a fashion blogger, nothing is more exciting for me than talking about swimwear trends. It´s because I love summer and I love the beach! That´s why even if we´re still a couple of months shy of spring, I already have my eyes set on sunny days and the gorgeous swimsuits to wear to the beach.

But we don´t have beach here in our area. We got to take the plane or travel by train for hours to enjoy the sand and the sea. But for a girl who grew up surrounded with sparkling white sands and blue beaches, that doesn´t stop me (and hubby) from actually going out and spending our summer vacay at the beach. And of course, it always inspires me to update my swimsuit collection early.

Summer 2014 swimsuit trends get more fabulous and fashionable than ever before, expect tons of bright colors and patterns. This year´s summer is also more about one piece suits.

Halter Plunge One Piece

One-piece swimwear is more modest than bikini swimsuit. But if you don´t want to look like a mama in a fully covered suit, opt for halter style especially one with plunging deep-V front. Because you tie the straps at the back of your neck, the halter swimsuit always guarantee a sexy backless view.

Look for swimsuits with cross detail at bust or slim strap to tie across the back for added support. Stripes, wild, or palm prints are just some of the very interesting patterns you can choose from.

Bandeau One Piece

I´m not a type to go for bandeau swimsuits because I don´t have full chest, but for girls who do, this is a really pretty style of swimwear to wear. This year we´re seeing an array of bandeau one pieces featuring stunning prints such as pop wave from Trina Turk, sailor stripes from Kenneth Cole, and ethnic print from Gottex.

But that doesn´t mean you´d have to forgo the all-black. You can equally look stunning in a solid black bandeau swimsuit with gold underwire molded cups and belt.

Bandeau Bikini Set

We can discuss modesty all night but bikini swimsuits look best on me because of my ultra-slim hourglass body type, so I lean more to this. Bandeau bikini sets with exquisite prints and patterns are going to be a big trend this year. But because bandeau doesn´t flatter my shape, as I´ve mentioned earlier, I dig for halter bikini swimsuits instead.

Fashion One Piece

Fashion swimsuits should satisfy those girls with very meticulous taste. Lace, wave scoop neck, Moroccan print with moon cutaway, reversible printblock, modest-in-front but party-at-the-back features, and garlands lace up, are just some of the adorable pieces that make me crazy.

But to be honest, if I´d learn to pull off a bandeau style, I´d surely brave this garlands V wire bikini top and ruched side bikini bottom, they make me think of Brooke Shields in Blue Lagoon.

Jet-Setter

Jet-setters are just that, wealthy jet-setters who cruise the world in expensive yachts. But you don´t have to be extra-wealthy to have a taste of such lifestyle, just pick a swimsuit – bikinis, tankinis, and one-pieces in brights and patterns – this summer that screams “look at me! I have enough money to splurge for myself!” Really, every girl ought to splurge on herself once in a while. Check out more of the jet-setter swimsuits here.

Now over to you girls, are you excited for summer? Which swimsuit trend for 2014 would you love to have?
