Currently, it is mid-Summer and in many parts of the world Fall is right around the corner. For me, living in Texas, the hot summer heat and humidity will continue to October and sometimes continue into November. But Fall is my favorite time of the year. The weather gets cooler (high 70s. Yes that’s cooler weather for a Southern girl like myself) and I get to wear some of my favorite cardigans, scarves, and tweed jackets! If the weather is especially crisp, I can wear my leather jacket that I do not get much use.
One trend I love to carry over to this Fall is florals. Florals are huge this Spring and Summer and I do predict that this trend will carry over into Wintertime. There is this lovely fall button down blouse from my-wardrobe.com by Paul Smith Black. It is a staple blouse that can be worn multi-styles.
When I want to feel confident and empowered, I like to dress with more edge. The leather jacket, the boots, and the spikes give the overall tone of “I know who I am – strong and woman.” I wouldn’t wear this outfit to work however I would wear the outfit to a date of some sort.
Now this is an outfit I would wear to work or to a business meeting or some business related event. The outfit is chic and office appropriate. The splash of blues and florals make the outfit not too plain or washed out. I like to keep accessories to a minimum when styling a work outfit. Accessories tend to get in the way of typing or writing but if you are comfortable with more arm party, more power to you.
Note: This 3.1 Phillip Lim Ink Shark Embossed Leather Pashli Satchel is a fall staple, seen on famous fashion bloggers such as Wendy Nguyen.
Stilettos are the objects of my affection. I feel the most feminine in high strappy heels. This is an outfit I would wear trying to impress someone when I “accidentally” bump into him. If you are like me, married with kids, this is an outfit that says “After 3 kids, I can rock this outfit and Husband, you are lucky to have me.”
Weekend Trendy Fashionista
I have been wanting to try the sneaker wedges for some time now. I love the duality of this look. The sporty plus the youthful trendy aspect. This is a great weekend look, hanging out with your friends, catching a movie, or even going on a holiday.
On the Go Workaholic
This is me right here. This outfit is stylish yet very utilitarian. The ballet flats are a must for me because it’s quick to slip on and off. Also I can run after my kids without feeling like I’m going to topple over. The crossbody bag is minimalistic – I can just carry my wallet, keys and phone. The trench coat should be a staple Fall to Winter wear- for warmth and weather coverage. This is a stress free outfit and one that I utilize all the time.
