Today was really warm, over 30 degrees, I took advantage of it. I pulled my rarely worn (gray) leopard maxi dress deep from the closet and styled it with a black floppy hat. I added a gray, strapped high heels which are hardly seen in the photos. The dress is quite long and as it´s being blown by the wind, it covered the entire shoes.
This leopard print long maxi dress is already more than three years old, but I´ve worn it only once before. It´s an investment piece. When it comes to maxi dresses, a $100 dress is already an investment for me. I don´t have a lot of maxis because I rarely wear one (summer is very rare here, approximately 3 weeks in a year, plus I prefer shorts over long dresses), but I do splurge a bit whenever I buy one.
I bought this dress not only because I adore animal print, I also love its style – layered ruffle on top, elastic cinched waist, and drape-y long skirt. The material is so soft and cool, it almost feels like silk.
My only accessories are a pearl wrist watch and a black woven floppy hat. I had a hard time wearing the hat though due to the wind, but it´s my favorite location for photo shoot. I love the landscape.
After taking my photos, my husband (who´s also my photographer) worked in our garden; he had to cut the grass. Whenever were in the garden, it means an outdoor play for our cat. His name is Orange. He enjoyed running around the garden and at one point, I managed to get a photo of him sitting on the grass. His pose is similar to that one I did earlier.
Do you like my maxi dress? Would you wear a striking leopard print max dress?
